One thing about Little Richard, is I think he probably should have done a few love ballads. He was heavy hitting 98% of the time, but all the greatest rockers had some slow ballads in their repertoire. I went through this video, and there is a very nice soulful, R&B ballad at the 18:00 mark. I had never heard this song before, and I think Richard could have sold more records if he did a few more of these. He is not considered the "King' because the sheer number of sales and popularity pales in comparison to Elvis, but I would have no issue with labeling Richard as the father of rock n roll. Many of the greatest rock acts have slower ballads as their greatest hit.

I noticed a few comments about the sax player. His stage name is Barrie Martin and he is now 80 years old. He lives in Coggeshall Essex. He was a member of the Walker Bros backing band The Quotations in the early 60's. Take a look at Otis Grand @ Blues Cazorla 2013 and Baz can be seen in the big Blues Band.

Richard had just returned from one of his " normal" peroids, hence the business suit,etc..but you can see in his eyes, the devil done got him again.intensity out of bounds..no one ever got so much out of two veres and one chorus, just hammering it!! No sophistication, just raw genius.. and I repeat, look at his eyes...never be another

Easy to see why Jimi Hendrix (fresh out of the Air Force) couldn’t last sitting in the background playing the same chords every gig. All power and respect to the Caitlin Circuit stars of yesteryear….Gods, one and all…

My wife's family was celebrating a birthday at a Mexican restaurant in Tullahoma, TN. It was almost 2:30 and I saw someone who looked like Little Richard sitting a a table nearby. Couldn't be I said to myself. But, I was wrong. He lived nearby and ate there regularly. He said he'd like to sing Happy Birthday but didn't since he wasn't at his best at the time.. He had recently had hip surgery and was using a wheelchair. Just a pleasant, nice man.

I watch Little Richard doing Whole Lot of Shakin' and I am just swept away with the song, always leaves a smile on my face. The backing band are having as much fun as the audience! Good music never dies and what an entertainer he was. Love it.
