Thanks, this worked for me. FYI you don't need to remove the wheel, just jack the car up and turn the wheel to the left, there's plenty of space. I had to simultaneously pull on the cable and click the hood button to get it unstuck - in my case the locking mechanism was too far down and I had to adjust its position.

Sad that Honda chose to put such cheap suspension on the CRF300. 30 year old suspension technology on a 2023 bike is ridiculous.

i think it inside have spacer and with this shock bike will be lower. to remove spacer you have to disassemble all shock. stock shock 415mm on crf lc4 duke as he writes 398mm. stil i think on most are 70N springs but some have 66Nspring so look for 70 its better. stock honda is 62N about. borisktm.blogspot.com/2020/04/ktm-lc4-shock-absorber.html in this link he talks about it.

I considered this option, but the lengths of the shock absorbers are very different and the position of the expansion tank is in an inconvenient place. if it would have been possible to put it I would have tried alsow need check width of lover mounting place ;)

so, the bottom is easy fit with just spacers. But the top side has to be grinded with sandpaper to get space for the bolt and nut?

I did this because of this video, and now i have a fully adjustable rear shock that actually works as a shock.. And not a pogostick! Easy fix!

Do you know if this is the same with right hand drive cars? Struggling for access with a jack with the car on drive, so hoping this is the same for right hand drive as car is parked close to wall to access the right side

I think it has to be on the same side as euro cars. But in reality I was not working on right hand drive car so i not 100% sure.

thanks for the video, my cayman battery is completely dead. Fuse box doesn't work for me. I have to open lid by removing splash guard. What a stupid design. I don't understand why Porsche design it this way. Any benefit form it?

It can't be easy to open for security. It is possible to make it easier to access from the cabin, but they don't need it.

How to open the door of the car if the battery is dead? We all know how to conect the charger to the red plug in the fuse box if You can open the door of the car but what if the door won't open? I have tryed using the key directly in the door to open it but it won't open. Any help on how to open the door?

Well done and all in your red trousers...how do you manage to keep them clean? I have a Boxter 986 2001 and i have just taken off the RHS as my car is a RHS car...and guess what...no cable. Tomorrow i need to do the entire thing again and look for it but this time on the left hand side...otherwise i need an angle grinder to cut a large hole in the bonnet :(

I have a 2001 986 as well and I'm storing her for the first time. The storage facility insists that I remove the battery for storage. IF the frunk lid gets closed by someone, or I forget and close it, I'll have no battery in the spring to open the frunk. Did you find the cable? I'm in Canada so the driver's side is on the left side.

yes there he is - the hidden cable. unfortunately 1) electric emergency-opener doesn´t work anymore and 2) my wheel-lock-nut is in the front trunk aswell --> so I need to have access to the cable with wheels on the car :-(

Lift the car corner turn wheet to one side and then to another until you unscrew all bolts it wont be easy but posible remove splash guard ab open trunk ;)

I'm facing the same situation with the wheellock key on fronk. There really shall be a direct mechanical lever to open frunk from cabin. Much less stress and hassle owning the car.

Of course the much easier way is to pull out the temporary battery positive charge plug in the cabins fuse box, attach the positive crocodile clip to the plug and the negative to an earth point such as the door hinge. Then add power either through a trickle charger or another battery. This will allow you to open the power frunk. This is the recommended way to access the battery. You should only have to -take off the wheel if you don’t have a battery in the car at all, or any other form of power, or crocodile clips.

@@viliusvedegys I might need this as the storage facility insists on battery removal for storage of the vehicle. If I close the frunk, or someone leans on the hood while in storage and closes the frunk, I won't have a battery to open up the frunk hood and I will need his video. Thanks very much.

I know this procedure but it’s easier, assuming dead battery, to apply 12 v to the pull out post in the interior fuse compartment that is expressly for that purpose.

@@viliusvedegys I do not believe that is correct. Unless you have an odd ball unit without the feature, all can be opened via the method I point out. You just have to be patient and let your jump source build up some current. It takes very minimal voltage to make it work. Just had this conversation with a service rep and there are vids showing you how to do it. If your car doesn't have that feature I would be very surprised. Not professing to know everything about these cars but not aware of any years without this feature. I'm opened to being educated if wrong.

@@nomansland4811if the battery does not accept charging when you connect from the outside 12 volts nothing opens, if it accepts charging after holding for a few seconds lock opens. you can try unhook battery and try unlock front lock, it shouldn't work.( of course without closing the hood)
