Thanks! I’m a machinist/ metal fabricator by trade and have built most of my tying tools. That bobbin included. Not an actual engineer but definitely have to be one in my job all the time. The engineering also carries over to a lot of my fly tying.

You make it look so easy. 😂 What size is the cord? Thanks
@toddarnold9994

Best size cord is 6mm as it’s the largest. 4mm is ok but I wouldn’t waste your time with 2mm.

Where did you purchase the Bonnie Craft Cord ?
@toddarnold9994
8 ай бұрын
For walk in stores you can get it at hobby lobby. But your colors will be limited. For more color options Amazon is the way to go. And try to get the 6mm size as it’s easier to work with and the amount you get.

Have you tried to o-ring a hook off the front shank instead of embedding the hook in the shank? Just curious if it has too much drag with a dangling hook vs. the embedded one. Great video. Thanks for the content
@toddarnold9994
Жыл бұрын
I do that with some other patterns to get better keel weight. With this one you want as little drag as possible for the glide. So no I wouldn’t do it with the jerkchanger.

No, single sided. I just use two small pieces to tape down the longer piece face up to my table. The tape just helps hold the sequins in place to work on.

What is the rear hook ?
@toddarnold9994
3 жыл бұрын
It’s a basspro hook. They have a heavy wire short shank O'Shaughnessy bend hook that I like for rear hooks in changers. The hooks are stout and the length is pretty short making it fit between short shanks well.
