One of the best bands to come out of Atlanta, out of Georgia and the South. I am so glad I got to see them several times during the eighties. They blew the roof off the place !

I have been a fan for years !!! And the one thing I love about Joyce is she will add lyrics to a song every night. No song is sang COMPLETELY the same way every night. So much energy from a singer a little over 5 feet tall !!! Watch how the other musicians seldom take their eyes off of Joyce because they are never sure what she will do next. AND THE SHIT WORKS EVERY TIME !!!!

Mother’s Finest is what TRUE rock and roll music is all about!!!!
Oh Lord what a great time. To me as a young kid at the age of 14 - it was amazing ! For us germans it was a kick in the ass - but a nice kick. I have seen this performance live at TV ( my parents go for a weekend holiday - thanks for this ) and as a result i ride the next week with my bycicle to the neigbourtown to buy a Mothers Finest Vinyl LP. What a tight playing Band ; today it is not possible that a Band like Mothers Finest had a great success. In a way the computer kills music ( mp'3s) - but that is another story. Nice weekend and a fine easter time for all the good people - Udo

Back in the day, a friend of mine turned me on to this album. I bought it and the next one too. Mother’s Finest is no doubt funk rock at its best. I still crank up the Kenwood with this classic cut still today! Wow!

Saw them live in the mid and late 70s and I was blown away. All my friends thought I was nuts for digging a funk/ rock band until they went with me to see them live. They were heavy rock and funk all mixed together IMO they were a better live band than Funkadelic at the time. Joyce Kennedy was just amazing to watch and she still has the pipes.

Read an interview with Elwood Francis, guitar tech for Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, where he mentioned Mother’s Finest so I figured I’d check em out. Fired up a bowl later that night and put on this show and it damn near melted my face off. This is the kind of show where the air is still ringing in the venue for several days afterwards.
