Ditch the propane heat. Diesel heaters are the only way to go.

Some people are willing to take a pice of carbon fiber miles beneath the ocean to prove their point you won’t even step outside in a skidoo suit in -6 American for a minute to prove yours.

very useful video -- I have an ARE too (w/ side doors, barn-door back doors (no tailgate) -- I like your setup and I think I'll use this as a design to use for my own topper! equally useful in this video is your report of how well this works as temp lodging -- I live in MS but have property in ND -- ca 1600 miles between these points. having something like this would almost make the cost for diesel fuel (for the truck engine) almost free (if based on possibly 5 nights motel lodging). you're right though about the Propex HS2000 -- they aren't cheap.

You can hook up the battery to the truck with a selonoid. It will charge only when the ignition is on. Great build thanks 😊

I can't help wondering why 99% of people put the bed on the driver's side. What's wrong with putting it on the passenger side?
@esschuele6336

I plan to do the passenger side myself. I think it’s becoming more of a rinse and repeat thing with these builds. So that could be why always on the driver side.

I think if i were to pull off the side of the road and then sit on the "couch" id see out the passenger side window and might be more enjoyable. Dunno, thats my guess of having it that way.

@@mikemattingly5825but if you park on the side of the road in any remotely urban area, you're in grave danger at all times of some maniac sideswiping you and permanently maiming or ending you. Not worth any view if you ask me. If you literally never lay down in town, it's fine.

"Blacked-out" effect instead of shiny & looks like you're doing something "Shady"!?! Because Blacked-out windows....isn't Suspicious 😂😂😂 Love your videos 😋❤️😅

Lol, you make a valid point. I suppose my logic is that from a distance, "blacked-out" looks more like heavy tint than shiny aluminum does 🤷? My girlfriend and I got window knocked by a cop last summer and told to move for the evening... I should have asked that guy what would look less shady! 🤣

Super nice camper build and well thought out. I would however cut off or change those long roof rack bolts and put plastic covers on the nuts, they'd make a heck of gouge in ones head (ouch!).
