I had no idea you could have something 3d printed in metal....great video

Thank you! And yes, it’s pretty cool that they print in metal. I’ve been watching the prices on them for a few years but they still haven’t come down to be affordable for a hobbyist 😢

No, you can use it multiple times! I’ve been able to get 10 pitchers out of it so far and it has plenty of life in it 😃

@SaltBakeMini

Thank you as well! I don't have a link for the exact wax but here is a link for a similar wax: amzn.to/4a7CJTP (also now in the description). I've had the dental wax for years and can only seem to order it through a dental company. But jewelers use a lot of the same materials so their wax should work as well :)

What is the thickness of the countertops? These are awesome!
@SaltBakeMini
4 ай бұрын
Thank you! I just measured them and they are ~2.5 mm thick. Then they have ~1.25mm recesses where the cabinets stick into. The island is a little thicker (3.25mm) on the overhanging part so that it’s a little stronger :)

Hello ! I've got several questions for you : what clay is it ? What glaze and what kind of kiln ? Is it for teeth ceramics ?
@SaltBakeMini
5 ай бұрын
It’s Aardvark clay. I went to a local ceramics shop and asked for a lower firing temp clay because my oven only goes to 2100 degrees. It what he gave me. The glaze is Mayco. The oven is a dental burnout oven. Not made for ceramics but it works very well. Buying them new costs more than a ceramics oven but I got it used from a dental lab :)

Is it possible to build a water heater so there's warm water?
@SaltBakeMini
5 ай бұрын
Possibly? The way it works right now is but placing the pump in a container of water. So I could put warm water in it and then I would have warm water that way. But a water heater would be fun to try and figure out 🤓

Try it! It’s actually pretty fun. And if you don’t have an oven, a lot of pottery studios will rent out oven time for you :) A couple places I asked when I first started said they would just throw it in with other firings and not charge because it was so small.

Yes, I’ve played a little with doing it and I’ve seen plenty of others do it. But I would like something more robust and correctly scaled. I’ve been playing with a couple other ways to create it without having to get it 3D printed but I can’t get it quite right. Once I do, I’ll post a video on it 😄

Thank you. And I understand what you’re saying. However, while I make the video for everyone, I make the kitchen and things for myself, using what I have to make it the best I can. I’ve seen so many videos that teach me to do things and most of the time I don’t have the tools or supplies to make them. If I limited myself to make only the things I have tools for, I wouldn’t make very many things. Instead, I find ways to work with what I have and I hope that others can do the same 😃

Yes, they took quite a while but look great. My main concern was the heat from the oven so if you don’t have that worry, you can make them out of a lot of other materials as well. Tile would work as well but may have a rough edge where you cut them. Are you making a dollhouse or something else?
