Those welds on the blades, I wonder how are the welds on the rest of the mixer.

So I bought one of these from Tim a very nice guy. Yes there are some weakness but fixable with some more heavy duty bearings which allow for thicker shear pins. He did add side guards which keeps the windrows pretty straight. So I have make about 4000 yards per year using this little turner. Water was the biggest problem using a 200 gallon top mounted tank. So we just moved some hand lines to solve that problem now it gets all the water it needs. I have made 600 foot windrows the width of is about 4 feet and high as you want but ended up about 5 feet high. This year we are making 7 windrows 1000 feet long. Got 160 yards of chips from the lumber mill and 160 yard of ash. About 10 tons of straw and the local grocery store scrapes which come in cardboard boxes which I shred. We gather up the fall leaves a chore for sure and add that too. The local grass fed beef farmer gives his manure away for free. So I hired a local dump truck service to haul in 180 yards. My material cost was just under 3.5 K. Now the far away compost company want about 80K for the same amount that I can make for 3.5K go figure. Farming is work but the results can be amazing. I paid Tim about $7500 including shipping to CA the ECO paid for its self the first year. I 've got about 57 ac of farmable land and we do our composting on 4 ac of land that has never grown $ crops. The wild flowers coming up in that area are amazing, we did seed in some red clover so we can mow down the open areas where the tractor pulls. The windrows are about 40 feet apart. We are also certified organic and have the pictures of the thermometer reaching 165 degrees to remain in compliance. Basically we are able to add 4 to 5 inches of compost on the target acreage per year about 10 acres. This is a great tool for making cheap compost. Oh yeah after making upgrades costing less than $500.00 we had no break downs. Its also fun to make turns when it snows in our new tractors heated cabin which has 55hp. So it's all good news for our farm. As far as the straw is concerned we try to buy the waste or left over 1000lb bales that have rot. Just don't pull to fast and you wont break the shear pins.

Sorry bud...an accident looking for a place to happen! It works ok but the pto shaft is way too long for a one piece unit. Run that shaft & the hitch on the same angle, outside of the left wheel & then you will keep the u-joint from picking up trash & you can lower the hitch & place a steady bearing in the middle of the shaft, or a 2 piece shaft supported by the hitch.

The recommend PTO output is 400 RPMs I never counted the actual turns per minute, so good question. But let me say its enough to properly turn a windrow.

It looks like some of the hardware does not have a lock washer nor nylock nut on it and could rattle loose. Has that been a problem? Did you consider using some means to keep them locked? The one specific example I noticed was the bolt at the top of the PTO center support.
@tims1633

We have not had a problem yet with anything coming loose. Lock washers and nuts are good idea though, we might switch to those. Thanks for the advice.
