Do you know if the kit in square Enix Store (NA) will cover all the game or only one adventure with this 4 classes?

According to square site it's: - Player Book - This beginner-friendly book contains everything a new player needs to learn the ropes and rules of roleplaying games. - Gamemaster Book - This handbook offers tips and advice for budding gamemasters, and includes three ready-to-run premade scenarios that tie in directly to Final Fantasy XIV's main story. - Premade Adventurer Sheets - This game includes four premade full-color adventurer sheets: warrior, white mage, dragoon, and black mage. - Rules Summary & Strategy Guide - Dice - 6d20 & 10d6 (16 in total) - Encounter Map - Character Tokens - Ability Markers So basically the same set that was used in this video. If you want full game for reals than you'd have to wait for players+GM handbook (or whatever they call it) release i suppose. It's the same release pattern that D&D 5E used i think: starter set first, then full book for players and GMs.

The fun part about that is that you read the rules of any edition of D&D from 2000 onwards (including Pathfinder 1 and 2), the truth is _slightly_ different. There are indeed three pillars of the game: combat, character creation (90% of which is devoted to combat) and spellcasting (90% of which is devoted to combat).

If theres 13 classes im guessing they likely wont have the classes from the two newest expansions. My estimate is that Gunbreaker, Dancer, Sage, and Reaper will be missing and of course the new classes from Dawntrail the Viper and the Pictomancer but hopefully it doesnt take them long to include supplemental books that include those classes or alternatively hopefully its easy to convert an existing class in the mmo to a workable class in this game.

bit curious on this and debating pre-ordering. so watching this to get an idea if it will be worth the investment. might still get it but there are some things explained that don't make a whole lot of sense to me though. the leveling system for example seems odd to level in 10 level increments. why not just drop the second zero? it also implied that there aren't a whole lot of levels either. ill have to get a full view of the systems though to know why they made these types of decisions and how it fits into the full game.

i have a feeling that some rule changes could really help this TTRPG, shine, like if they kept the role for initiative could, maybe they change it's name to something aggro building related and the tank, and healer keep an eye out what their doing, and maybe some job tweaking too, like for warrior you can accidentally hurt your team mate if you fair some type of save or something, and i think that their should be some misses, cuz the DM will be rolling the enemies after all.

I don't know, this seems like it was created with the same mindset of the game, you don't need to stress about too much. Seems very simple. I was about to preorder but I think I will wait until someone makes a review of it because it doesn't convince me right now at all.

In Sword World 2.5 Social Interaction is intentionally solved by role playing and doesn't have any relation to stats. Which I think is good as it removes the dusted Board Game "A dice decides if you are able to do basic human interaction" feel from DnD So not having Features that DnD have can be a good thing and doesn't mean it's unimportant to the gameplay

So far, this all looks hum-drum, especially if this game will have to-hit rolls. The thing I'm most curious about are how this game will employ the various markers from the video game into tabletop.

Yeah, I hate to say it, but the whole thing sounds (and looks) kinda phoned in. I guess the combat sounds kind of interesting in the sense that it encourages you to switch classes and approach it again, but that also doesn't sound like it'll stay fun for terribly long. Like you said, the various markers might be interesting, but in the MMO it's time based, not turned based, so it doesn't seem like it'll be terribly hard to just move one space out of the marker, or for everyone to move 2 or 3 spaces in to soak. It just isn't sounding that great, but who knows... maybe it'll feel great in execution?

From what I've seen on the ffxiv discord thread, all attacks auto-hit. Your d20 roll is to see if you Direct Hit (which has additional effects for most skills), and/or Crit.

Japanese ttrpgs have a tendency to play more like board games, and to focus on the combat aspect. However, they usually still feature plenty of opportunity to roleplay. I assume its much of the same case here.

@@enderking6904 Even if say your game doesn't have out of combat skills, nothing stops the GM and players from using the combat attribute and skills for RP. No stealth? Roll dexterity. Need a light to see? Ask your GM if it'd be cool to use a weak miniature version of your fireball to light the way. Ideally you'd use a system meant for what you want to play, but if you're really intent on using a specific system, it's not that hard to give it what it's missing.

I hope it is authentic to the MMO in that we get into a dungeon , then the WAR and WHM get into a pointless argument, the WHM leaves, followed by the WAR. The two DPS shoot the shit a few minutes before leaving too.😂

There is no english translation available at the moment sadly. But Double cross has official english translation.
