Even Sissy Spacek twirls a baton on Saturday Night Live, even if she joins Miss America Pageant as Miss Texas.

Not sure where that comment is coming from, but actually your statement couldn't be further from the truth! She certainly isn't that!

This gives me so much LIFE!!! Love watching her twirl. Love her style of movement, which she does with such incredible ease… especially with such a tall frame. Her skills are mad ridiculous! ❤️❤️❤️

Hello Mr. Russell, I don't know if you will see this, but please tell Kelli that she is my favorite baton twirler at Miss America. Even with that one drop I still don't understand how she did not make the Top 5 at the pageant.

WOW!!! Twirling in those BOOTS! Incredible! She should have gotten extra points just for that! After seeing her for so many years as a judge behind a table, it is a joy to see her twirl! Thank you so much for sharing this.

I'm assuming she didn't drop a baton in her talent winning prelim performance. It was unfortunate that someone so clearly knowledgeable & talented dropped one and with maybe a bit too noticeable of a bounce. I'd LOVE to see the preliminary for her night, when the winner of Miss America for this year, also had her talent same night and is on record as having thought she'd have won talent, but at the same time admitting that Kelli indeed was talented. Then to her surprise, after being told that she didn't have enough to win a swim suit prelim, Miss Mississippi ends up winning her prelim suit. Then this happens to Kelli on finals. Then for Cheryl's singing, after going from playing piano and singing to then just standing up to sing, her separate mic isn't turned on and just continues her singing routine at least 10 seconds until the mic is turned on, all without missing a beat.

I can’t imagine spending hours learning to do something that will not help the world move forward in any way.

Couldn't that be said about any athlete in any sport, or any entertainer as well? Is it a waste of time to train to be the best football player, tennis player, actor, etc? If something doesn't "help the world move forward", does that mean it holds no value? I think not! The world would be a very boring place without the entertainment given us by sports and the arts! I think your comments are not on point at all!

I disagree that twirling and especially in competition does not help the world move forward in any way. Most competitive sports teach teamwork, companionship, work ethics, discipline, compassion, friendship as well as give one a sense of accomplishment. I was a competitive twirler, rower and in competition drum corps. I learned many values that shaped me and I can't think of a bad one. I learned how to win but more importantly HOW TO LOSE! Sportsmanship is often lost when there is no competition. These values have helped me immensely in the 35+ years since I competed. I couldn't disagree more.

Then you have no idea how difficult it is to twirl. If you can do better, please, be our guest. I kinda doubt she cares about your opinion unfortunately. Best to you

I might not necessarily agree with you on the statement of one of best talents ever, as if you mean overall when comparing her talent to all other talents in the history of the pageant. But I won't at all disagree with the statement that it's about as great of a baton twirling talent as we can ask for with this pageant. MA '91 Marjorie Vincent's Fantasie Impromptu comes immediately to mind. Shani Nielsen's In his eyes in top 10 for '97, helen goldsby in top 10 from 96 and MA '73 Teri Meeuwsen (INSANE vocals) all of which are currently on KZitem to view. Let me know what you think. But yes Kelli is fierce here
