this is incredible, im 13 right now and im playing this for a MPA district competition and when i see these videos on my fyp,, it shows to me how far ways i have before reaching my dream of being a musician, it will be a tough road for me to folow at such a young age but I know i can if i just try, incredible playing didnt think i even had to mention that since you probably already know that but I had to mention it

Great control and tone. Makato is a gifted clarinetist. Note that their is an allusion melodically to Mozart's Symphony no. 23, second movement with obvious rhythmic differences - early in the piece. I do not have the score so those of you who know it will recognize the 'quote'. As for Timbre: Years ago I worked in the same direction. I have no idea of Makato's 'setup' since it has been years since I was concerned with such things. However he reaches the right balance - great articulation combined with a medium dark quality which is what I always aimed for!. Makato and the Conductor take this at the right speed. von Weber was no Mozart. However this is my favorite. An excellent work in one movement for a more limited composer is better than doing the whole Italian form of 3 movements. I switched to Jazz and Popular Alto and Tenor Sax since it was easier to get gigs and I was not the greatest sight reader. This involved an amazing switch in terms of embouchure and setups. Unlike many others I see a continuum between European And American forms of music. This being the case even when playing Funk or Jazz at a Strip Club. Music is what saves us as human beings; Since we seem to have f'k up everything else.

+Abigail McKee First slow it all down, making sure you are playing each note at the same dynamic+same length. Then try practicing the fast notes in groups of 2 32nd notes. Continue that pattern with 3 32nds, and then groups of 4. If you can master each group at twice speed, you should be able to play it flawless at normal speed. Have fun!

superb interpretation - I counted only 2 minor mistakes: absolutely forgivable in a live performance of a tricky piece. Actually, I've often wondered whether Japanese/Korean players actually understand the Early Romantics better than we Europeans do: they invariably do better interpretations, especially of the orchestral parts. Can't wait to find more recordings by Makoto Yoshida!

Terrible first note, but who's counting? Why do you equate an interpretation with how many mistakes there are? That's like comparing apples with orangutans.

It's wonderful to watch young artists perform. Mr. Makoto has a beautiful tone, & I really enjoy this performance. I suppose he's about 20 years old now, & I would love to hear more of his playing.
