This is awesome. How did you make it look cinematic? Did you use any filter? My only issue with Lumix cameras is that they tend to look too digital with its sharpness.

I'm still in a dilemma now whether to go for fx30 or s5ii. Currently using Panasonic g85 and its a beast when i shoot wedding videos especially when I shoot solo. the Panasonic stabilization is a must for me however i kinda prefer sony color looks and variety of their third party lenses but just cant with Sony's amateur stabilization, i dont want the Hussle to use catalyst browse software for each 100 clips. I have never used a vlog pp before on Panasonic because g85 has none of the log profiles not sure if it is similar to sony S log so I can use a variety of luts. And in my country most videographers use sony due to 2nd hand resale value and easy to get 2nd shoot job just in case. Kinda hard to find people using Panasonic but still I cant get away how good Panasonic IBIS.

Color is subjective if you wanna adjust in post it takes a few seconds, specs only, the S5II destroys the FX30, it doesn’t have 4k 120 but the 120 on the Fx30 is just a noise fest I wouldn’t use for anything personally or professionally

You need to shoot with a wider lens. That’s the only way to get around the crop factor with any camera.

The footage looks amazing man! Good job :) That shot at 3:10 is so beautiful, love the dynamic range of the misty landscape behind the trees! Did you use AF with the Sigma 24-70? How does it perform, and have you ever compared it with the Lumix S primes? I own the S5IIX with Lumix S 35mm and 85mm f1.8 and absolutely love the AF performance. I'm looking to get the Sigma 24-70, but only if the AF performance is just as good. Thanks!

To use the auto focus without recording you must change the AF settings in the menu. It' s a pain that panasonic delivers the cam with this preference.

As a Sony camera shooter for about ten years, I have to admit that the user experience with the Panasonic S5II is quite positive. What I like, is the manual focusing possibility during AF mode, great video assist features, and LUT support for video and photography also. What I am missing, is the ClearImage Zoom and a quick setup for image crop while recording (Sony can do this, and I found it useful as a documentarist). What really annoys me, is the Pana's EVF "constant preview" (manual exposure live preview) in AF-C mode that is bypassed while half-shutter pressing. And, sometimes EVF banding (flickering) in bad lightning conditions cannot be adjusted. Also, I am missing more APS-C lens options for hybrid shooting (i.e. smaller telephoto lenses). The S5II body has great ergonomy, but is it a little bit bulky for my everyday and family use, and the L-mount system doesn't have more compact options for everyday or family use (except Sigma FP, which is in the similar price range as S5II).

If you see yourself working in extreme lowlight 12800 iso comes in handy! I've been told it gets very mushy though (ZV-E1) If you work more in controlled lighting and want Black Magic Raw or Pro Res Raw via external recorder and want 24mp for photos get the s5II or X! I'm here if u want to ask more questions!

@SouthboundProduction
8 ай бұрын
Hi there!, I havent had any issues with rolling shutter. There are plenty of rolling shutter videos picking at it in general that you could take a look at all over KZitem. I only cared about rolling shutter back in the A7III days. If you care a lot about rolling shutter, then you might need to take a look at stacked sensor cameras instead of entry level cameras! But for the package, the S5II is a super solid camera.

So this was all internal codecs? I’m so impressed with this that I’m thinking about sending back my blackmagic video assist I was going to use for braw. It’s so expensive but I wanted the extra image quality you supposedly get from it vs. the internal codecs. This looks really nice without it. Maybe I should save some money 🤔
@SouthboundProduction

I’d recommend you keep the BM Video Assist, as great as this looks the BRAW adds such a great organic look to the image, finer detail is seen way better and color depth isn’t as compressed.

@@Jimizell mhm I know this already! You need the 7” for the audio work around though lol and the 7” is close to 2lbs and huge, as well as a hefty price hike for an external recorder, on top of that you would want the X model so you don’t need to buy the firmware update. Plus batteries, plus an SSD and then mini XLR to XLR cables for microphones. Then you’re at $1200+ already just to get it running. If you’d want the firmware update then you’re at $1350+ before an XLR mic or 3.5mm to XLR adapter for a mic. So it really isn’t just sunshine and rainbows from all you read to work around just HDMI lag lol…
@SouthboundProduction
8 ай бұрын
@@Jimizell if you’re using an external monitor you wouldn’t be using the rear lcd anyways lol. The overhead to just getting it running is not worth the time if you’re just wanting a run and gun affordable setup, sure it’s a great upgrade path but it stops once you get it. As for the BMVA, no I will not be getting it till later later down the road we’re talking a year or two.

Other guy was a bit rude, but I do agree that this video does lack volume. Making sure your video is just above 14 LUFS is usually the best way to get competitive volume
@SouthboundProduction

Seems it only happend on this video, the newest one I released didnt have any issues and the audio in resolve was just peaking to red.
@bardoomguy
8 ай бұрын
@@SouthboundProduction yes your newer vlog video has a much better volume. Volume peaking into the red is not good, but it can often be fixed by putting on a limiter. LUFS measurement is a better way of seeing how loud something is to the human ear and it's what the social media platforms use to measure how loud something is. Maybe you know this, I don't know, but it's a great measurement for audio volume and it's easy to work with in Resolve. I recently found out about it
@SouthboundProduction
8 ай бұрын
@@bardoomguy I do already don’t worry lol thanks anyway. Also the reason my audio is fine in the vlog video is much better is because it’s peaking more into the red. You want your audio just in the tip of red the first bar to be exact. KZitem compresses audio upon upload
