Best design! I run a Pitts with a wet kit…. The ONLY time that has ever came in clutch is going over a steep short hump/hill. Lift the deck another 3” other than that…. It sucks! can’t take anything over the back because it has massive fenders and shit Ramps.

As Professional Drivers we , as a Group , are pretty good at precision reversing , HOWEVER , I am curious if there is any degree of Self-Aligning in the Gooseneck or Trailer bed ? For less than optimum conditions or Operating in the dark .

Lotta dumb fucks in the comments These trailers put in work out west, they weigh way less than your pos stuck in the 70’s hydra neck that you have to break down every load, these are the absolute best lowbed trailer money can buy, 90% of equipment can be loaded over the tail including big ass dozers, excavators, loaders ect, they will also handle quit a bit more than rated for. Murray rackley Cozad best Fuckn trailer money can buy.

nice setup, but when you have a 110000 load does it still connect as well, looks like its harder to connect than we think it is under load

As long as you have low bed ramps on your truck, there is no difference in the connection.

I've never pulled a mechanical RGN so forgive my ignorance. But once everything is connected and your ready to back under with a load isn't the neck awful low? Do you have to hit it pretty hard to get under it? I'm looking at buying a mechanical fairly soon, so I'm trying to do as much research as possible.

Yeah, load an excavator on there and then spin out in the dirt trying to raise up the weight of the trailer with a 10" disadvantage. Insane. ??
@dutchboy25al

You have to have a good set of ramps on your tractor. Murray makes excellent ramps. For the other tard, gale, we load excavators over the back. But if you're a tard, you'll load over the front and still have no issues backing under the load.

I have never pulled one and know people like these out west but I have to think a Hyd Neck detach is a little more convenient and allows me to raise or lower the neck if the deck sinks when loading. neat concept but I would have to run one for a while to say it works as good as a Hyd neck.

They usually come with ramps. For the front and back, but we hardly use them for most work.

What a bunch of Know-it-all whiners. These trailers work in the market they're designed for, until you take into consideration 1. Local rules and regulations for permitting 2. Actual time necessary to get a load on a trailer 3. availablilty of other comparable trailers in this market, 4. cost involved to get your "favorite trailer into this market 5. permitability of your favorite trailer in this market....you are a truck driver with an irrelavant opinion. This is a smaller load class than I haul but so many of these comments are made by people who have no clue about bottom line or profitability.

If you haven't pulled a Murray, Rackley or Cozad detachable neck trailer and you make comments about how they will break or can't handle the weight, you're ignorant. These trailers are proven and are built by equipment haulers.

I know you made the comment a long time ago but watch it again. The "deck latch" he switches to "lock" at 0:59 holds the goose-neck. It auto-latches when you back the goose-neck to the deck, it isn't going anywhere at that point.

I have been running this set up for the last 8 years. When you go to back the truck under the trailer with a load on it. All you have to do is run the machine to the back of the trailer, thus making it easier to get back under it. It's not hard on the truck if the driver knows what he is doing. As far as the clutch you just let it out and back under the trailer. Have backed under in mud, sand and uneven ground and never had a problem. You just have to think a little before dropping the trailer.

To all these naysayers , that say you cant load over the back,or its a bad design or you can't get under the trailer because its hard on the truck....these trailers are designed for heavy haulers by heavy haulers. They are PROVEN... take a look at their website or stop at their facility in N California.

looks like a hugeeeeee pain in the ass when compared to a regular low boy. too many variables- uneven ground, low traction. furthermore, with a 30, 40 ton load on there its gonna be hell getting that truck back under it.
