Kirk needs to assemble a proper touring band to perform some stuff like this. Guy has the money to do it, why not? I'd rather here him do this then whatever Metallica are coming up with today. Guy's got a worse deal than George Harrison creatively. Time to show the world what you've got Kirk. This is genuinely very well made music.

To have gone so long without solo work, and we finally hear this. This shows he needs to put out some more solo work. This song sounds like something he came up with on a mountain with LSD in the system. His loyalty is to an instrument, not a genre, and that allows him to create great art.
Kirk, you have always been an outstanding artist. Please create more by yourself.

Absolutely stunning. So many wonderful inspirations I hear, I hear Morricone, Mike Batt, the melody at 3:00 is almost exactly that of To Tame A Land by Iron Maiden with wonderful operatic crescendos. Wonderful music Kirk, I cannot wait for more.

@@arjunmukherjee3347Not true - Kirk chose to improvise his solos in the studio on the last two Metallica albums rather than composing them in advance.

@@dmitryowensaside from his lazy approach on 72 seasons, hetfield & ulrich rule the songwriting side and lars did coach him on magnetic & hardwired and you can see it in the studio footage.

@knightfall9394 I'm sure he offered some input, but Kirk has said that his solos on those albums were largely improvised. Also, Kirk has written quite a few riffs throughout the years - he has cowriting credits on 4 songs on 72 Seasons, which is his usual. He didn't have any on Hardwired because he lost his phone that had years worth of riffs on it.

wow, first riff - absolute amazing sound and nice tribute for To Tame a Land Iron Maiden from 1983! From the very first second it remind me one of the best their album. See a big influence :) I'm curious if it's just unintentionally similarity or well-thought move. Also rest of the song - great composition!
