Blue tongues have partial venom immunity against certain snake species like the brown snake
@lcpholman

There was a study showing they have immunity against red-bellied black snake venom. The King Brown/Mulga is a member of the black snake genus (despite the name, it is not brown snake), so it may well have immunity here.

@cheeseburgertim1694

You could have saved the harmless and defenceless blue tongue lizard, but instead you thought yourself and wanted your 2 minutes of fame to make a video to increase your likes and subs. Your right up there in the category of those who film their pet dogs and cats being strangled to death by carpet pythons and put the footage online. I remember one A Hole In Queensland who filmed their defenceless calf being ripped to pieces by a pack of Dingos/wild dogs whilst the mother cow desperately tied to save its calf, then sent the photos to a Queensland news paper who promptly published the photos. Don’t give me this sh*t you just happened upon this at the time of the beginning of the 1st video, did you fed the slow moving totally harmless blue tongue lizard to the brown snake? And as for the “it’s just nature” will you all say this if that brown snake next decides to bite your dog? How about your child? or your spouse? Have a look at the size of the brown snake, it’s f*cken huge and well past the size where a mouse would be enough for dinner, that’s why it is now going after full grown blue tongue lizards, which are over 30cm long, and not before long it will go after bigger prey, and in the process lose its fear of larger animals, like your dog, child or spouse. Look that the height it rears up to, perfect striking height for a chest/head strike on a child, which a compression bandage would be useless first aid, and the bite would likely be fatal. Baby king browns / mulga browns/ eastern browns have enough venom to kill an adult human. 100% death guaranteed if your bitten by a brown snake and don’t get immediate first aid, and the eastern brown is the 2nd most venomous land snake, in the WORLD. Google it. Think about that camera man next time your driving in the middle of no where, your dog, child, spouse or YOU are bitten by a brown snake, you don’t have a first aid kit and/or know first aid, and you can’t ring for help because you were too busy filming defenceless and harmless animals being killed by killers and your phone battery is FLAT. Of course there is no danger if the threat is eliminated, so next time use a 12 gauge or run over one of these snakes if you don’t have a gun, you may actually save someone in the future you do actually care about. It’s illegal to “interfere with reptiles?” What absolute BS, snakes are run over (by accident of course) every day, and you can legally shoot a human in self defence in Australia (under the criminal code, not weapons legislation), so you clearly have a defence against a highly venomous land snake that is rearing up in a striking position. RIP bluey, you would have probably survived had this A Hole helped you prior to turning on the camera, you certainly would have survived if I had been there. Don’t believe the BS blue tongue lizards are “immune” to snake venom, you can clearly see the paralysis starting to set in on the blue tongue lizard, and brown snakes are smart enough to know not to waste their venom on something that is “immune” to it. Unlike a python, a brown snake can only kill its prey with its venom. Most people don’t know that most blue tongue Lizards and their cousins the shingle back lizards mate for life with the same partner, so somewhere near where this happened is likely the other blue tongue lizard waiting for its partner to return. How does that sit with you camera man? or are you to busy out there looking for the partner blue tongue lizard so you can film it being killed by a killer? Maybe your too busy letting your dog cool down in a crocodile infested river, with camera at the ready of course. Think of how many likes and subs you’d get for that video.....

That's a King Brown or Mulga - not even a brown snake - member of the Black Snake family. Venom is nowhere near that of the Eastern Brown, or many other Australian venomous snakes, but it does give a hell of a dose - one of the largest venom quantities in the world (as opposed to Eastern Brown which delivers tiny, but hugely lethal amount of venom).
