@@jeff185 And the coffee beans are good to start selling?
@jeff185

@cony__gamer718 Dep3nds on the market in your area and what else is offered by other coffee rasters. Doing three 200 gram batches in an hour with resulting batches with about 15 - 20% weight loss depending on roast level would be difficult to make a profit in my opinion.

Best collection of ACD photos I've ever seen. I have a wonderful ACD. No cattle to herd, but she bends the other dog-park dogs to her will within seconds of arriving.

I simply love my blue heeler Joey Lucas, he is bred from Texas working cattle dogs and is the smartest fastest strongest dog imaginable. They're not for everybody, however if you like muscle cars or Badass bikes this is the dog for you.

Genius! What variety/region of beans are you roasting?

Not genius, I just modified some other geniuses offerings for my own version. It's been a while since I made the video but it is probably Guatemala. Thanks for the kind comment.

What do you have holding up the motor? Is that wood or an aluminum bracket?
@jeff185
2 жыл бұрын
Hi David, That is just a chunk of wood. The little dc motor I am using is just barely enough to move 1/2 pound of beans and sometimes a bean will jam in the sifter. I am going to modify my design and mount an old variable speed drill motor to drive the axle until I scrounge an old sewing machine variable speed motor to add some more torque to the drive system. :)

what setting do you have the heat gun at? What is your typical roast time?
@jeff185
2 жыл бұрын
Hi David, This heat gun is has a max temp of 1100F if I am remembering correctly. I just put it on the highest setting when roasting 1/2#. It takes about 12-15 minutes for a medium roast.

How do you avoid getting beans stuck between the agitator and the wall?
@jeff185
3 жыл бұрын
Hello Mohamad. That little motor only works if I have the alignment of the motor and drive shaft perfectly aligned and only do 8 ounces at a time. I'm going to find another alternative so I can do a larger batch and not have to micromanage the agitator. An old discarded sewing machine motor with speed control and great torque may be the answer.

I did rescue one and he is in this slideshow. He died just a few years ago at a very old age. He was the best ACD ever and we have had many ACDs over the years. You can see him at 19 sec, 2:10, 2:19, 3:11 and 3:36. He is also the ACD pictured on the ACD page at Wikipedia.

whats the purpose of biting the ankles?
@jeff185
8 жыл бұрын
The only acceptable reason for biting the heels or ankles would be to inspire the livestock to move. ;) Most dogs will go for the heels but occasionally a dog will discover the nipping low on the front also to be a moving experience.

Very big shame the one I had...she was naturally a disaster. She peed everywhere, destroyed our garden and almost made our beautiful cat run away. This dog was beautiful, but uncontrollable. We eventually had to give her away to one of our relatives with a bigger house and another dog. She was happier there. But her eagerness killed her when she ran away and got run over. I didn't spend much time with this dog, we had her for so little time. But it was a very good opportunity thrown away ):
