I think you skipped over a key aspect when you drew your line from the knuckle to the diff. The line goes from your ball joint, through the tie rod, to the diff correct? This seems pretty hard to measure in the real world. If you wanted to keep the stock ackerman you would move the tie rod pickup point inline (diagonally) with the original ball joint to tie rod pickup path right?

To anyone that's finished an engine swap like this on junkyard parts and other necessary components, what's your rough guess on cost and time? Have a freak incident with my car so this is starting to become a realistic solution to getting it running for me again. Please and thanks. \m/

My man, I’m glad to see my measurements are still going strong! Although, after I was running the 450hp LS3, I cut the knuckles and re welded for a total of 60 degrees lock and zero ackerman. Bump stops were needed with the stock rack location! PS; EV455 tie rods are what I was running

This is old but I just messed with this myself and you need to DISCONNECT these two wires. You CAN connect them on either side but it's the disconnection between the ecu and vsc module that makes it work.

Question: if current runs from earth to positive, how come the fuse is wired in before the light on the positive side? I've never understood this. I know conventional flow is positive to negative, but for things like HID bulbs where its constantly earth powered until positively switched, how come the fuse is after the bulb if its powered by earth ? apologies if that wasn't explained well, I'm not good at explaining

I talk about it in a later video but I honestly forget which one lol. Its pretty easy though, you just have to splice this small white and black wire together, then there is a large power and ground cable. Lastly there is a smaller green wire thats the signal wire to turn it on and off.

@@WildSlideDrift For sure! Well I appreciate it, and your whiteboard draws were pretty helpful! I've heard Ackerman thrown around but never got it completely. So on the car, are you shortening the link to the tie rod on the wheel side, or lengthening it? Then using longer tie rods to increase the articulation of the wheel?
@WildSlideDrift
2 жыл бұрын
@@luckyboyyt8582 well thats kind of part of it but i also need longer ones to reach the knuckle from the lca being longer. You get the most angle from either lengthening how much the rack moved the tie rod with spacers or shortening the steering arm on the knuckle to have a shorter ratio and more movement

@WildSlideDrift

If you lose a relay or a fuse it wont kill every component. Also running every component on one switch is probably going to be too many amps. You could lessen the amount if you have the ecu control fans/fuel but other than that i would keep them separate

Its easy just press it in with a rubber or plastic mallet and a socket or something. I think they have ball bearing bushings now but if you get the shitty brass one like i did be careful not to smash it too much or it will close the hole up
