This ir really good, the only songs that I think it shows her aging are the faster ones, the medley she dis with the guilty songs, Stoney end and no more tears wasnt good… I think it’s because she doesn’t really like the songs, so doesn’t connect with her… but this was sooo beautiful.

I'm not sure why Barbra keeps saying she and Judy were friends. There is no evidence the two divas were ever in the same room at the same time after Barbra's guest appearance on Judy's show in 1963. Talent-wise, they were equals, but no two women were ever so different from each other.

Did you hear her say that on the Howard Stern interview here on KZitem? She did say it on that show, but I questioned if that was true because i never heard her speak of their friendship or anything about it in the tabloids, media, etc. (And I believe I've seen every interview of Streisand's') I do know that Liza first told Judy about Barbra after seeing her sing in a club and then she was later on Judy's television show. When Howard asks Barb if she were the greatest singer who ever lived, Barb said "Who, me?" I wonder if that response was genuine. I guess she was implying that Judy was a better singer than her.

@@jaf8771 Babs started invoking Judy's name when she added "Over the Rainbow" to her set list. I forgot when, but it's been a long while. I heard her once tell the audience that Judy was "one of the greatest singers who ever lived" so I think we know what that means. Barbra's not modest, and she has the right not to be. In discussing her recent 992 page book, she claimed Judy was a friend and came to a party Barbra had at her apt. in 1968, and at that party Judy told her, "Don't let them do to you what they did to me." That strange quote actually goes back to 1963 and is often mentioned when their iconic duet is discussed. I have no idea who "them" is and even in 1963, I can't imagine anyone "doing anything" to Babs. I don't believe the 1968 party story. If the two women ever met since 1963, there would be some mention of it somewhere in the whole catalog of Judy books. There isn't.

Thanks for reminding me because she did say this "one of the greatest singers who ever lived" just before she sang Over the Rainbow during the little concert, she had in her backyard to raise money for something.... don't remember what. I have this on DVD. I still wonder why she would fabricate these stories about Judy, party, etc. What would be the point in doing so. I just purchased that book as a Christmas present for my sister. Amazon had missed reviews.... some claiming it needed to be condensed into something readable and not so many pages. @@akrenwinkle

@@jaf8771 Judy's condition in 1968 was no secret, especially since Judy and Barbra had the same fans and colleagues, and Judy's problems often made headlines. I think Barbra wants to give the impression that she gave Judy the opportunity to meet and ask for help. As much as I love Judy, I wouldn't have invited her to a party, worrying about her bringing a new gay boyfriend, or making a spectacle, being high and/or drunk. I wouldn't blame Barbra for keeping her distance, but I believe she shouldn't have made up the party story.

Thanks for the insights......they make perfect sense. I just can't get over the fact that Barb purposely lied to Howard saying they were "Good friends" and in her book. Isn't that funny...the last thing I would have ever thought about was Barb helping Judy with her problems.... never crossed my mind. Probably because I figured during that time what sort of experiences did Barb have at that young age to give advice to anybody...let alone, Judy. I remember in one interview the guy asks Barb if she was the greatest singer who ever lived and she said, " Well you know, I am more than just a singer...I'm a wife and mother as well". So, she really didn't answer the question leaving me to think that she thought she was the greatest. Anyway, Barbs voice at her last concert in Hyde Park was pretty bad with the hoarseness. At her age now.... I would almost bet she can't sing at all. However, I think she's doing another album in February...another duet thingy. Of course, with all the electronics they have these days using autotune, or whatever, they can probably make her voice sound great. To be honest, it makes me extremely sad that the old Streisand, and that perfect voice, is no more. @@akrenwinkle

Hmmm. Magnificent voice and performance. Thank you for the great sound. The video, not great. And the noise in the audience, and their inability to wait until the end of the singing to make a ruckus and therefore miss her nuanced and subtle phrasing, is everyone’s loss. But it’s certainly better than nothing.
