Due to the scale in the water, ultra sonic misters cause white dust to settle on everything in the house. No thanks.

Yes, if you have hard water you'll get the mysterious white dust everywhere. We're on well water and that was problem, but then I bought a budget reverse osmosis kit from Reef Acquarium, and I fill the mister with RO water. That fixed the white dust and also I perform zero cleaning maintenance on the mister head. It's always clean. I've been using the RO kit for about two years.

@@jimw7043 Good idea. How often do you have to change the RO filter?

I turned the inner white valve all the way counter clockwise thinking I would get hotter water but temp is still the same. Maybe a defective cartridge? The water used to be hotter but I’ve had to keep turning it up. Now max isn’t even hot enough. I have a tankless water heater.

I have this exact same problem. My temporary solution is to increase the temperature output of the tankless water heater. Did you ever find a solution?

@@TiemSong I’ve got to contact my plumber since they installed the unit. I think Grohe has a good warranty, but I don’t have any receipt, the plumber does. I’ll update if I do.

@@entrthedragon Any updates? I contacted Grohe and they said that the cartridge needs replacement, so I'll give that a try next.

@@TiemSong The update is the cartridge has now completely failed. It dispenses the hottest water even if I turn the temp all the way down. My wife loves it but it’s not right. I will have to contact Grohe for a replacement.

If you contact Grohe, they are guaranteed for life (for the homeowner who installed the unit, but I'm not sure how they verify that).

It's September and the humidifier/mister is still running very well. I use hard well-water so once a month I soak the humidifier unit in some vinegar. Also if you have hard water, then occasionally throw out the old water and replace it all with new water because the concentration of calcium builds up in the left over water over time.

To simplify the explanation, if you look at 1:30 min on the vid, that white ridged turn knob is the valve. You could just turn it until the water temp is 100 degrees, then just slide on the plastic cover with the temp setting numbers so that the 100 is right on top. Then put it all back together. Supposedly when you're done, the knob won't go higher than 110 degrees.
