Katsaris's piano teacher was a student of Liszt. COINCIDENCE???

So multitalented. This is truly hilarious 💀 and that he’s playing from memory is a nice touch too Edit: also that before Liszt solo piano performances weren’t much of a thing

I presume Katsaris was a native French-speaker. Any German-speakers here who can tell if he's speaking German with a French accent, or if he was able to speak German with a fake Hungarian accent? He did study with Cziffra, who was Hungarian.

Katsaris has easily the best voicing i've ever heard. How he played the Waltz and simultaneously happy birthday, perfectly switching the voices, incredible. And he does the same in more complex pieces (for example his Mozartiana), absolutely mind-boggling

Magnificent playing of Katsaris, only marred by a horrendous unwanted hum in the background. Fire the engineer.
