What happens if one of the metal rods in the back snap off? Do I need to replace it
@ALASAT1
5 ай бұрын
If you are referring to the little metal rods that go into the contacts on the piece that is mounted to the wall then yes you may have to replace the entire thermostat unless you know someone who is an Electronics person who might be able to solder it back on or fabricate a different rod (which is an electrical contact).

Thanks...The torque made sense. I had not seen another strap wrench video explain that part.
You sir are a GENIUS. We tried a million different troubleshooting methods we found online and they all failed miserably. This problem took over our entire day and we were on the verge of making an expensive service call. This method works, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! 🙏

Thanks for the video. I knew how to use one but I just got a new one and didn't know how to thread it. I mean it's pretty easy to figure you have to thread it through but I couldn't get it for a while. Finally I got in through the opening and all is good now.. Lots of videos on how to use it but not necessarily on getting it started out of the package.

I have my thermostat programmed, fresh batteries, correct time, etc. Just had my furnace service so that is fine. The problem is that after 4 PM, the furnace is not coming on....it's currently 61 degrees in my house and I don't even have that temp set for any time of the day or night. When I wake up it is fine, and works all day unti I guess the return cycle at 4 PM, when it's supposed to be 66 degrees. Please help! I called my heating company and they couldn't find anything, so paid $$ for nothing!

The screen is blank now? Why??
@ALASAT1
3 жыл бұрын
If your screen is blank it is likely that your batteries are dead.
@ALASAT1
3 жыл бұрын
I would replace your batteries with some good quality batteries like Energizer brand and see if that doesn't fix your problem. Also check your battery contacts and make sure that they are working good and are clean sometimes cleaning them with a pencil eraser or a mild abrasive like sandpaper or Scotch-Brite can help if they're dirty.

How do I make my thermostat manually turn on even if it is already pre-programmed? My thermostat is pre-programmed 280° at sometimes I am home and I want it to be on another temperature and I cannot get it to turn on manually
@ALASAT1
3 жыл бұрын
To put the thermostat into the manual mode just press the HOLD button that tells the thermostat to hold whatever temperature you enter with the up / down arrow. To put the thermostat back in the automatic mode just press the RUN button. I hope this helps, Good luck.

I bought the Ace Hardware version (same design) but it won't work on small pipe - doesn't create enough grip to prevent slippage. I have tried numerous configurations, and nothing works. I have a feeling the "hinge" has a reason, but can't figure it out. Instructions with the tool would have been nice!!!
@ALASAT1
3 жыл бұрын
The hinge is there too slightly change the radius of the strap and give the item more ability to reach round curved surfaces. I hope the video was of help to you. Good luck.
@ALASAT1

I forgot to mention there is a minimum grip radius for the tool. It's likely you'll probably need to use a different type of tool for your task.

This sounds like you have your thermostat programmed to go to a specific temperature (In the automatic mode) and it's just returning there after you program a temperature and release the buttons. If you want to manually set a fixed temperature you need to press the HOLD button and then enter the temperature with the arrows. When the thermostat is in the automatic mode it's going to go to the pre-programmed temperature that is set for that time after any buttons are pushed. It would be good to read the operators manual if you do not have one you should get access to one as this is explained in there. Please keep in mind this is a programmable AUTOMATIC thermostat.

Wd-40?...
@ALASAT1
3 жыл бұрын
You know WD- 40 was created by the Rocket Chemical Company as a WATER DISPLACER (Formula 40) to drive moisture off ignition wires in the early uncoated wire days. It does drive off moisture but will not absorb it as it is not HYGROSCOPIC.
@ALASAT1
3 жыл бұрын
WD-40 was used on our first space rockets to keep moisture from condensing on the rocket's body as the rockets were as thin as a beer can and originally kept pressurized by air until they put fuel in them to keep them rigid and not collapse under their own weight.
