Loved my childhood in Pittsburgh. The city and its suburbs have changed for so much the worse. The people who have relocated to, the focus on so many liberal businesses/institutions has destroyed much of what this video portrays. Nice video though if you are living in nostalgia.

Born and raised on the Northside, those growing up years were the best! Too bad children and grandchildren will never experience the growing up times I enjoyed! Swimming at PV every summer, Annunciation Fairs, hanging out on the corner with friends, drive ins, ice balls, chocolate cokes, and so much more! Love you Pittsburgh, as they say in Florida you can take the girl out of Pittsburgh but you can't take this girl out of Northside! Accent and all!

Nice video, but I don't remember any of my working class friends ever listening to a country-western record unless it was done undercover. We were heavily involved in rhythm and blues, and I'm talking about the late fifties and early sixties, and I mean second and third generation ethnics of all stripes whose fathers and grandfathers worked in the steel mils. Nevertheless, the message conveyed by this brief video does capture the spirit of Pittsburgh and its environs.

624ossicheronee If you knew the whole story, you'd understand. It involved an ex-wife, her lying sack of manure mother, that mother's con artist boyfriend, an ungrateful ex brother-in-law, and not being able to see my grandfather for what was his last Christmas. The one good thing to come out of it was a good friendship with my former father-in-law. He and my former sister-in-law warned me about my now ex-wife, and after I met the right woman who I am happily married to today, my former father-in-law made a special trip to visit me and congratulate me.

I was born and raised in Penn Hills, Pa. and still live here to this day; Alot has changed ,but yes life goes on yet the spirit of the city is in your heart and in ur soul and no matter where your life takes you, you will always be a Pittsburgher. As for me I will die here and my body will sit ontop of a hill in Penn Hills overlooking the Allegheny where I will always be able to see my Pittsburgh.

Seats are sold out for 10 years. Some season ticket holders are from out of town (i.e. AZ, CA like myself) and can't get to every game. So really, shut up about something you know nothing about

I went to college in Florida with quite a few people from Pittsburgh. Many Pitt folks in Florida, very down to earth people. I sold my late parents home to a lovely couple from Pittsburgh. I always wanted to go there because everyone I have ever met from there has been gracious & regular folk. Some say many with Season tickets to the Steelers also have season ticket to the symphony. That speaks volumes. God bless Pittsburgh, hope to visit some day soon.

Pittsburgh had many of the same problems as Cleveland and Detroit and still has its problems. But the civic leaders, business leaders and other entities in Pittsburgh decided to cooperate and do whatever was necessary to get the city back on track. They are obviously very smart with a lot of business savvy.

All you have to do is check out other videos about Pittsburgh and read the comments. 99% of former Pittsburghers LOVE their city and for those of us who moved away for various reasons, many of us are just praying for the opportunity to move back.

I went to Pittsburgh on my 20th birthday and I like the people there. I'm a die hard Steeler fan since 2001. I'm a Pittsburgh fan, even though I live in Cleveland. Pittsburgh knows why its the most livable cities in the nation, the people are friendly, the food at restaurants are the best.

I went to Oklahoma to live 8 months ago. Everyday I was gone Pittsburgh memories burned in my heart. I am not a sports fan. But I love so many other things about Pittsburgh that I will never leave home again. I am not sure what it is...maybe because I know where everything is at, maybe because I know you can always get a job or maybe it is the landscape. or maybe it is all of these things combined along with the people that makes Pittsburgh have evertyhing I want in a city.

It was on the verge of becoming another Detroit, but Pittsburgh is full of smart people, rich people, and determined people. The economic base was changed from mostly steel, to technology, research, finance, health care, education and some steel & other industry. The people loved their city so much that they REFUSED to let it fail. Add to that the deep pocketed wealthy class, Mellon, Scaif, Heinz, Carnegies, et al who sustained the city through the bad times.
