so you would recommend the 100s with the gel pads?

To be honest with you, I got to use both back to back recently, and I think the noisefighter gel pads were actually less comfortable in extended wear.

the Walkers game ear xcel 100s have 4 microphones you can see 2 above each earphone, under the + and - on the headband. only difference in the 500s is noise cancel software and blutooth/aux cord, if you just want them for what they are made for the 100s are good to go, I wish I could upgrade the software of the 100s making them ever better as the hardware is the same

I have the Peltor 100 earmuffs that I use the most at the indoor range and am quite happy with them. They don't have the hard unpadded head band like the 300/500's plus were half the price. Only thing I am gonna do is replace the ear pads with the gel muffs. I also don't care for the way the wires from the headband attach to the ear pieces. The plastic connectors pop off from time to time. They pop right back on but it's annoying when it happens. I also have a pair of the walker's razors but I agree that the sound quality really sucks. I put the gels on my Walkers, and I have to admit the gels really do make a difference. As far as headphones with walkie talkie and Bluetooth attachments, that all means nothing to me. I go to shoot and maybe a talk a bit with others on the range but I don't need the fancy stuff like that! Nice informative vid. thx

My peltors do have noise compression. Every bit as good as 'clipping' if not better. I much prefer to any Walkers I have used including the xl 500. My bluetooth quality is also superior. Comfort is also superior. Seems everything you have said negatively bout the peltors completely wrong.

Great question. There have been quite a few new products since that the original time that this video and evaluation was done. In-ear shooting protection has gotten more popular since then, as opposed to over the ear. Im not sure that I trust that style more than the over the ear traditional style, and not looking to find out the hard way. I have recently added the sightlines gel ear pads to mine, but continue to use the walker xcel 500 and 100s.

Excellent review of the exact ones I'm considering. For the walker excel 100 and 500, with the controls on top of the muffs, I doubt mounting them in a helmet with an adapter would be possible or easy unless I'm missing something. If you have done this it could make a great video.

Hey there, I've been trying to figure out which would be the best ones for me to get, I have a pair of Impact sport, But I can't listen to music with them cause I lost the Aux when we moved, Plus I want something with a little bit more sound reduction, And it needs to be Bluetooth, I'll mainly be using these for walking my dog, shooting indoor and out, And listening to music. One thing I hated about the Impact sport, is you couldn't control the music and outside audio separately. Which would you recommend?
@AleksanderOdessit
2 жыл бұрын
A few of them offer bluebooth but I dont know that they'll be as good as any real pair of music headphones, keep in mind these are built for noise protection first and sound second. I believe the peltors and the xcel 500's were the best for sound quality when using bluetooth when I tested them, but the original howard leights also come with an aux port, so you have a lot of options depending on how you want to listen to music.
