This really brought back some memories!! I was stationed there from Match 1960 to June of '61. I was an airborne radio and nav repairman, and we had the F89 Scorpions then. The F102 was being transitioned in about the time I rotated back to the states, so I never got to work on them. Thanks for the post!!

Glad you enjoyed it. My two years there as a F102 pilot were the best. My wife and I made several life long friends from the squadron.

I was there in 1963-1965, 7th and 8th grade. It was heaven for kids back then. The ski slope was a rope pull up the hill. We lived in a single house, not far from the base gym. I am 72 now and still have not seen so much snow as when we lived there. The temp registered 32 degrees below zero frequently. My Dad shoveled snow so high it made its own garage. It was a lovely time in my life, and my parents had more fun there than anywhere.

Snow....I remember one weekend that it snowed 48 inches. Cars were buried for some time after that one. Good memories.

AFBrat too. My Dad, who is 97 years young, served as Msgt on flight line from 12/9/67 to 12/15/69. Loved Goose Bay and we didn’t want to leave. So many good memories of this place and we talk about it all the time.

Interesting video. A lot of the pix we took with 8mm movie camera looked like this as it aged. Kodachrome II did not age well. Anyway, I was fighter pilot stationed at Goose in Oct 64-Oct 65. Whoever did this, thanks for sharing...... Monty

Dad was stationed there from 64 to 67. He ran the RAPCON with the RCAF. I went to Robert Leckie school in Spruce Park PMQs. Speaking of Curtis LeMay, one of my dad’s additional duties was running the fishing camp on Eagle River. He fished with General LeMay, by which I mean he ensured the General actually caught some salmon.
