I think of News at Ten when it comes to Australia (Eastern and Southeastern), Fiji, Tonga, Cook Islands, and a portion of the Antarctica, as they are over 10,000 Miles away from UK, where I am.

I feel well taken back to my childhood. I'm 3 months and a week to 40. Couldn't be any prouder to even live from just a decade and a half before then and see in the Millennium. Today, I'm marking what happened 2 and 3 decades ago. 😢

The early tunes in this (the 1995 one) just sends shock waves through the spine. I loved this tune!! It just screams out 'epic shit has gone down today'. This is my childhood and when the tune hit I would think 'oh shit grown up stuff is so epic and slightly scary but in a cool way'. The one today is crap. They should reinstate the mid 1990s one

Yes, the end clips of News at Ten with Trevor McDonald were good ones... that's from around 1994. They were more modern spin-offs of the hard hitting intro from the 80s and prior, with Alastair Burnet and Sandy Gall. Good times. But those old classic News at Ten intros in the 80s were quite depressing and scary when you were a kid growing up.. LOL

These more recent themes were pretty good! Good memories. But 1985 to 1994 were even more classic. You can't beat the classic thunderous News at Ten intro to some hardcore world news... although they toned it down a bit in 1992.

As sad as all of this is, (PS: used to love *alot* of CITV's content in the late 90s/early 00s), but if things like ancient "Mr. Bean" cartoon repeats and "Scooby-Doo" *really* are your flagship shows in 2023, you *really* have had it! Like this generation of children will miss it anyway also. To be honest, ITV *truly* gave up on children's content in 2006 when Ofcom and the Gordon Brown government allowed them to drop out. ITVx is just them *again* trying to keep Ofcom or any other media regulator quiet as like they've been doing for the past 17/18 years. 🙄

It seems this was around the time when the 'E-F-C-D' note sequence, up to then only part of the 'News at 10' signature tune, started to be part of the intro for all itv news bulletins

Here's some interesting trivia I found about this video. This was mostly filmed in 1990 apart from the start of the video which was filmed sometime in 1989. Also, rest in peace to Roy Harrison who was the cameraman involved with this video. He unfortunately passed away back in February 2023.

A shame that the MRC doesn't seem to have grown or developed much in the last 29 years. Last time I went in 2022, it just looked like a sorry place that doesn't seem to have successfully established an identity or USP for itself other than 'we run stock up and down a track to a timetable we made up'

Interesting fact firstly the Lunchtime News actually used the same opening theme as the Morning News from January 1996, while the Early Evening News had its Big Ben titles dropped in July 1997 both I think were to allow for more News (correct me if I'm wrong). Note the alternate Morning News titles which were in use between March 1999 - September 2000.
