That’s awesome. I don’t have any specific advice for this. Different managers will provide different tests. Just make sure you really understand the high level aspects of React. Plenty of resources online for this. Good luck!

Is your personal credit score and/or credit report a factor in being hired for Deloitte?
@SandorFekete

Hi, I never had stellar credit so I don’t think it was a factor for me getting hired. I think it might matter more though if you’re applying for a Finance based role. Cheers.

Ok good. I have 19 years professional work experience and an advanced resume. Just attained an MBA in August and college tuition had me running up my credit cards a bit, but I’m paying them down now. Thank you so much for responding and I absolutely love your videos. Hi. I have a virtual pre-screening interview (first interview) next week and I was told that a video is "not necessary". Should I then turn on my video or not? Thank you!
@SandorFekete
3 жыл бұрын
Hmmm, not sure what to make of that... Sounds like it might be a Zoom meeting or (something like that) but where your webcam won’t be needed to be turned on... so just audio. Maybe there will be other people on the call as well? Haven’t had an interview like that before. For me it’s always either a one-on-one phone call interview or a video chat interview with one or more people. Hope that helps. :-)

Hi thanks for your video, my question is I have two offers one is from Deloitte in audit and the other is a small accounting firm which is not a big 4. So I will complete my 150hours at the end of the year. So I'm not sure which one to choose cause I heard that the big 4 will make you work for 60 to 80 hours every week so I'm kind scared to put myself into that kind of environment. So what do you think base on your experience at Deloitte.
@SandorFekete

Hi there, That’s an excellent question. My experience is strictly from a software developer perspective so it may not be of much value to you. If you read some of the user reviews for Deloitte on Glass Door you may find some more insight there. From my own research, and from some anecdotal evidence, it appears to me that this type of role may in fact pay better and be less stressful outside of Deloitte. With that said, during the busy months of tax season it will be quite the crunch no matter where you work. Deloitte offers superior networking opportunities and the ability to grow in a multinational organization... so the money will be there for those who are willing to stick it out. You just have to do a lot of schmoozing and socializing to be known. The prestige of having the name “Deloitte” on your resume also goes a long way, no matter what role you had. Hope that helps, I’m sure you will make the right choice. Always trust your gut instincts. Cheers.

Do you know how the hiring process is for a QA Engineer
@SandorFekete
3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not. I can only speak from my own experience when I was hired as a Senior Consultant for a software developer role. In general though I imagine there would be some similarities across the board. There is typically a behavioral interview and a technical interview at the least. The “fit” interview is also one of the main types of interviews, no matter what position you’re applying for. Deloitte looks for certain types of candidates. You have to portray yourself as someone who has integrity and someone that can be trusted by your team. Hope that helps. :-)

Hi Nikhil, So sorry to hear that you have had a hard time with Deloitte. I know it is not an easy thing to go through their process. I can only speak from my experience with Deloitte Canada. I know that each location is a bit different. One slight advantage I had was that I was recruited... they were looking for experienced senior developers, which are apparently harder to find. They had asked if I was interested in going through the process, and I said YES. To be perfectly honest though, after five interviews/conversations I almost gave up entirely... I didn't think I was going to make the cut. But I persevered and pushed through. Attitude alone can get you far in life, and this was no exception. Hopefully my videos have at least given you some extra perspective on your journey. :-) - Sandor
