I’m not not denying the Lord is powerful and true he is the only God Alfa and Omega but common sense has to come into play at some point and he said he didn’t come for peace but a sword for the righteous against the wicked

Jesus fulfilled the prophecies of the Old Testament through His coming and death for us on the Cross. He is one member of the Holy Trinity, one God in three Persons. There is reference to Him as far back as the book of Genesis, when it reads, "Let us make man in OUR image..." (Genesis 1:26). Jesus is true God and true Man.

Yes. I am sure God approved him telling Nixon that the Jews were a great danger and needed to be brought under control in his second term. And ridiculing MLK when he said white and black children would walk hand in hand. And for pandering to divorced movie stars and politicians. God just loves Bible thumping hillbilly preachers.

Acts 19:4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. "believe on" and "give your life to" Christ Jesus are not equal. One is faith and one is works.

Salvation is achieved by repenting of our sins and placing our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. You left out the repentance part. Jesus mentioned "repenting" frequently in His ministry as did the Apostles. And so should we:-)

@WorldwideEvangelism Ok, I somewhat understand you. The one sin that keeps a person from Heaven is unbelief. A person must repent of unbelief, and of the belief that they can earn their way to Heaven. That is why Christianity is not a religion, though many call it that. Christianity does away with rituals and self righteousness by owing up to the fact that we are sinners who can't save ourselves and instead need the blood of Christ.
@WorldwideEvangelism

@WorldwideEvangelism Sin is really a word that encompasses much more than wicked deeds. Sin is what is separating us from God. Even so, Revelation 2:21-22 says, "And I gave her space to REPENT OF HER FORNICATION; and she repented not. Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they REPENT OF THEIR DEEDS." Wicked deeds are not something that the Lord handles carelessly. We must choose, Christ or sin. No work. Just faith.

@WorldwideEvangelism For example, if I was in a flood and clinging to a tree, and a rescuer came to get me out; I couldn't hang onto the tree and be saved (rescued). I would have to let it go. The tree is my work, my self-righteous, my religion. Repentance is the giving up of all the work that you can do because you know that it is not enough. You are turning from yourself (and your sin) to Christ. Perhaps you take issue with the idea that "sin" is what people are repenting from. cont.
@WorldwideEvangelism

@Chainsmoke2 I think that you and I are closer in thought than you think. Repent does mean change your mind. Sinners are called to repent (as this verse and Luke 5:32 say), and the comparison between sickness and sin and physician and Savior are no accident. Someone who is sick mu st put themselves completely into the hands of the physician if they are going to get well. A Christian must totally put themselves in the hands of the Savior to be saved. It is not a work..... (cont.)
@TruthOverTradition

@WorldwideEvangelism No prize for you. I still don't see "repent of your sins." It says Jesus did not come to call the righteous, because He was making it clear that we are all sinners, even the hypocrites who think they're righteous. So once again, no turning from sin is mentioned in regards to salvation. Jesus came to convince sinners to change their mind and accept Him as their savior. Do you want to try this again?

Did you read what I said? Where does the Bible tell us to "repent of sin?" It tells us to repent, which means to have a changed mind. Did you know that God repented 36 times in the Bible? If repent means to turn from sin, then I guess God is a sinner. Preaching repentance of sin to be saved is works salvation and a heresy.

@DKWegley if Christ was a violent pig, as you claim, then why did he come down to earth in a lowly human form to sacrifice his body and soul without raising a hand? Do you not know why he is called The Lamb of God? The very idea of joining together a sacrificial lamb and a violent pig is twisted.
