These were made at the Sough Bridge Mill which included its own foundry. The company was an offshoot of Bradford-based Jowett Cars. I worked there in my first job after leaving school in 1969 as a trainee cost accountant on £5 per week (£4/8/4d take home after tax and national insurance), but left to return to school for A Levels just before the factory closed. At the time they were mostly building the Bristol Taurus and had recently designed a machine which could load from the front, take the bucket over the cab and tip behind. Earlier in the 69's I worked on farm where the Bristol 10 was the only tractor until we got a David Brown 990 Selectomatic which seemed to be huge by comparison. Great to see the machines still running.

Kick it in gear and let’s go. At that speed he will be plowing that ground in winter. Beautiful ground.

It surely is crawling - by build AND by speed. I love to watch crawler tractors at work, so thank you for putting this vid up. The poor little thing sure does sound like it's laboring, though; is it working a particularly-dense type of soil?

B Williams It’s not labouring ; it’s just a small machine. The engine’s ticking over nicely. The soil’s really light, so l don’t know why you think it.’s working hard.

Excellent video! What make of diesel have you put in it? Mine has original Austin 10 engine,it's becoming a right bugger to start on the handle! Fantastic machines,I love them.
