Great video thanks! But your ice reservoir was surely 32 degrees F (or 0C), the temp at which ice melts. According to the laws of physics, the whole reservoir would be 32 degrees F until all ice has melted. So I guess your thermometer has a deviation of 5 degrees F.

Hi. Excuse me, I had a question: I want to produce 70% alcohol for disinfection by combining sugar and baking yeast and distilled water. What should be the temperature of the fermentation liquid in the barrel during the fermentation stage? What should be the ambient temperature? I am a member of your channel and I watch your clips. Thank you very much and good luck.🙏🌹💙💜❤👍🙏

Another way to tell how full your keg is , is by cold crashing your vessel and once the beer is transfer to the keg you will see condensation on the outside of the keg which shows you how full it really is. I like your setup. Looks legit. I have the same one except slightly difference configuration.

For anyone looking for the quick disconnects, they're called "PLC quick disconnect couplings" from CPC / "Colder Products Company". Specifically the ones in this video are the "valved" variant, the non-valved ones won't stop glycol leaks. www.cpcworldwide.com/Product-List/Series/4/Size/3/Type/1/Valved/1?Category=44 If you search the model numbers you can find them from various suppliers, including Amazon.

What kind of lines are you using? Just braided stuff you can get from home depot? I want something stronger that won't kink and add some length. I have QDs on mine as well, makes life so much easier.

hi, Is there a separate pump for each fermenter?
@Bierkast
6 жыл бұрын
Paulo KBÇ Oliveira yes. The current design is a separate FTSs controller for each fermentor that controls its own supplied pump. It’s similar to a commercial brewery in that way. Each one of the four connections is a separate setup drawing from the same glycol reservoir. This way you can simultaneously lager and ferment a beer. I’ve found that efficiency goes down with larger tanks. I’m running 1bbl brites and fermentors on this thing and it gets taxed pretty hard. 4 simultaneous 5-15 gallon fermentors would be no problem.

@kristoforbarnes
8 жыл бұрын
+Syncopadence I just looked at the listing again and it doesn't include barb. It's not uncommon for a 3 piece to not have a hose barb. Blichmann 3 piece ball valves are similar. I think it's better to buy them separately because you may not want to have the hose barb, you may want to have the quick disconnect or cam & groove. Maybe they can add an option to the listing so you can opt-in or out while you are adding it to your cart.

+Shaun Newman Hi Shaun, are you talking about the quick disconnect that I have fitted to the mash tun in the video? I actually supplied that one so that I can use it with my system. 3 Piece ball valves typically don't come packaged with the hose barb to threaded fitting, but you can definitely order one from Ss or from another brew shop.

I use a large SS wire whisk, purchased at a restaurant supply, when I mash in. I never have the dough balls as seen in this video. For what it's worth....
@Bierkast

Bob Kauffman Good Idea. I don't usually have issues with dough balls and in this situation they were gone pretty quick. I'm thinking it's the milling level. The grain was pulverized, which always causes issues. I don't have the luxury of my own mill yet. I may do what Josh mentioned and drill a few holes in my paddle.

I've had my own mill for a long time. It's not something I'd want to try to do without, but I understand that very few of us can afford all the cool stuff we'd like to have. I'm currently lusting after the FTSS for my Brewtech conical. Someday soon.......

Josh Jensen Thanks! I got that idea partially from my friends at Pipe Dream Brewing. They have their fridges on moveable pallets. The fridge i use is on big metal casters as well so I can wheel it right up to my door. Still a work in progress I think.
