Thanks for explaining! I have been thinking and wanting to try creating a short film myself, just for fun, but I only know of apps like triller, TikTok, Funimate, iMovie, etc…. And I only have my phone as a recording device lol. Do u have any tips maybe that might help me kinda know where to start? I’ve drafted a script for the most part…. And a written story line… I’m stuck trying to figure out how to film each “scene”…. I’m doing this alone so if u have any advice I would love to hear!! Thanks for sharing!!

@@briecee33 hey! Sorry for the late reply. Thats so exciting that you are making a film! My advice would be to have some sort of visual plan ahead of time, such as storyboarding. That will always save time in the long run and give you a clearer sense of how you want to tell your story. Sometimes I like to edit together storyboards to make sure it will flow, tho that might be overkill and isn’t necessary. What I would also recommend is to take your time and don’t be afraid to experiment, or fail. Failure is inevitable, and that’s just how you learn for the future. With all that said, there is no set way to start. As long as you are making something, you’ve started. Once you made a film, you are a filmmaker. I wouldn’t get too bogged down in “am I doing this the standard way” and such, at least not at first, because then you can easily overwhelm yourself. I hope that all helps and I wish you luck with your film! You’ve got this!

This is one of my fav short films 🥰 I love the concept behind it… I really enjoyed the description too, where you stated making it in a weekend to challenge yourself. Well done! 😉

Holy crap, that is EXTREMELY well made! For a second, I thought that that was some sort of a polymorph trying to lure him away from safety but it turned to be way better than that:)

Yet another horror movie character who dies of, essentially, never having seen a horror movie before. lol Pretty good, especially for something you put together in a weekend. I would agree with another commenter who said the final shot goes on a bit too long - when I saw the mottled gray skin of the Thing, I was like, "oh, fuck!" and I think it would've been more effective to go from that to the light flickering and dying, and then that's the end. But a decent short nonetheless.

I don't like that he opened the door. I would have preferred the horror of not knowing and him fighting the fear and interest at the same time. I mean, the state warned him in an official message. He shouldn't even let friends and family in, and he opens the door for a random stranger. Come on... But besides that it was well done.

Lead died because he is an idiot. That there is a monster inside when he goes back was obious, because you showed the door not closing. And the stair scene was predictable. It took too long.

I have a currently published book, a collection of horror stories, available now. I think most of them could be adapted into effective short films. If you're interested, feel free to reply in the comments

I’m always interested to read some short horror stories! I’m not sure if I can adapt them, all depends on capabilities and idk what exactly that would entail, but color me intrigued. What’s the book and where may I find it?

Wow that was very cool! I think it's a spin on something about an SCP I once saw, but I like that and your camera work Quality and editing were great. Too short though, even though it probably would be an infinite loop, Not gonna lie that was really neat. More like this please!! Oh Um.. SCP087 sort of..
