This reminds me of my nissan 100nx with carbureted engine, it had t-tops, looked weird but there wasnt anything really special about it so I think it goes to same category "Doug wouldnt review it"

I will have to say that a quirk that I just noticed was that there is an audio magic shift gear and a manual shift gear. 🤪. Mine was maual only and I LOVED it! Great T Tops (no leaking), and Great 4Wheel Drive!!

Wow this was really nice to watch, because this to date was/is my favorite car that I’ve ever owned. (I traded it in in 2004 because I moved from Michigan to south Florida and my Suzuki X90 didn’t have air conditioner…you need air conditioning down here). Yes it was slow, but I wasn’t and still not trying to race in a drag race. THANKS for posting!!

I like the X90, it makes sense as fun sporty looking run about that offers an off-road element. I’m a giant fan of a glass roof. You have a very cool “Ute”. If I got my hands on an X90, I’d love to reupholster it in saddle brown with coffee brown accents and parchment dial faces in the instrumentation.

GM LF4 3.6TT. Hellcats in something this small and light, similar to a Miata, is too much power unless you're just going to use it for the 1320.

I followed the first one I ever saw to see what it was. Always liked them A year ago, I found a Tracker....priced right I bought it. When I went to drive it, I surprised that it was two wheel drive! It hadn't occurred to me that it could be. So, I drove it 75 miles home. Super good car!! A month later a guy approached me at the gas pump and said that he had one just like it in his backyard with a blown engine. I followed him to look at it and other than the 5 speed (the first was auto) they were twins and I bought it. Found a good (real great) engine and both were cruising. I really didn't have a favorite and decided to sell either/or. Put "choice" in offerup ad and sold the auto....f.f. six months I sold the 5 speed (twi months ago). Yesterday, I bought an X-90...2 wheel drive, 5 sp. from a mechanic who drive it back and forth to work since 2009. Having been in the old car hobby, and at times business I have had many amazing cars over 50+ years. The X-90 is cool. They are hot rodded mostly because they have a full frame (shared with the Tracker) and rr. wheel drive.

Mechanically, Suzuki‘s are bulletproof. And you’ll always outrun a Subaru in an ice storm. Subarus transfer grip from the wheels that slip to the wheels that grip. Trouble is some of them have to slip first before they do that. You don’t have a Subaru AWD drive system you have an actual four-wheel-drive system, which is superior on ice and every way. I’ve always wanted one of these. They are great cars.

Im kinda getting obsessed with these; just purchased 320 acres of raw land and i need something to just get from one side to the other. Getting a polaris would be pricy and boring. Any thoughts on getting one of these? I know its slow, but i feel like slow on the road can still be fast ish offroad. There is a decent one near me for 3.5k. looks like it could be a fun little dune buggy type rig for my homestead. Any input anyone?

Great Review! Man.....I don't care what ANYBODY says about the X-90......it was one of the most fun cars I ever owned and I regret letting mine go. The T-Tops were so easy to remove and put back and the height was great.....higher than a car, not as high as a truck.....it was Crossover before they even existed! The only thing I hated about the car.....was it's vomit/Seizure inducing seat material interior door material design. Blessed were those that got the faux plain, grey leather seats. It handled awesome too.....

I think the perfect donor motor for this car would be a Honda S2 thouwasn't AP1 motor with a manual transmission That would be an absolute dream to drive-in the 4 wheel drive Setting with some serious tires and a mild lift you would be unstoppable and very quick

My bosses own one and i drove it as a daily driver for a few months. Honestly, it`s a fun car to drive every now and then, maybe go to the beach, but other than that it`s absolutely impractical. It`s thirsty on fuel, it`s noisy at high speeds, there`s next to no storage space and 25 years after it was made i can`t even have fun offroading it as it`s next to impossible to find body panels and especially tail lights. Being an older japanese car it also means there`s a lot of rust and therefore working on it is hell. In fact- just yesterday i changed the timing belt and the water pump and 1 out of 3 bolts snapped. Edit: Your review was really well made anyways, i also think that Doug would`ve complained about the head room 😅😅

I own a 98 and have had more fun in this vehicle than any other I have owned. I put a lift kit on it and have made a number of other modifications. I used it on the dirt roads and two tracks in Northern Michigan. It is a blast to drive in the snow on the back roads that dont get any salt. Bought it for $800 but its worth a lot more that that now. Enjoyed your video.

Are these decent for winter driving at all? In Michigan myself and found one cheapish compared to some other non 4WD autos. I kinda wanna use it also to daily in summer but I know they’re not exactly a quick car. Not sure how the upgrade market is on em.

I fit 31x14.50 15 Thornburgs on mine but simply adding spring spacers, removing the bumper covers, and slightly triming the backs of the front fenders back to the floorboards. I put a auto locker in the rear and now that the tires are worn down by about 80% it can spin the tires in deep snow and mud! It even skips across water above 30mph!

I bought my X-90 used in 2003 and I'm still driving it in 2023 with over 300,000 miles. Overhauled the transmission at 180,000 miles and did an upper engine overhaul at about 225,000. Parts are getting harder to find but I'd buy a new one in a minute if Suzuki came back into the states. Fun cars these days are largely unaffordable. Maybe Suzuki could come back into the U.S. market with a partially enclosed autocycle (three wheels) for an affordable price. I keep looking at Polaris RZR's and wishing they made a street legal model or something like the Arcimoto FUV with enough horsepower and handling to make driving fun again.
