If Hans Zimmer doesn’t literally invent a new type of pipe organ and bust it out for the finale of Messiah then I don’t want it.

The greatest tragedy was the love between two leaders of men, and the two women they loved. Their desire to protect who they loved turned into the death of billions. Nothing more human than a consequence like that.

"When I set out to lead humankind along my Golden Path, I promised them a lesson their bones would remember. I know a profound pattern which humans deny with their words even while their actions affirm it. They say they seek security and quiet, the condition they call peace. Even as they speak, they create the seeds of turmoil and violence. If they find their quiet security, they squirm init. How boring they find it. Look at them now. Look at what they do while I record these words. Hah! I give them enduring eons of enforced tranquility which plods on and on despite their every effort to escape into chaos. Believe me, the memory of Leto's Peace shall abide with them forever. They will seed their quiet security thereafter only with extreme caution and steadfast preparation." God-Emperor Leto II Stolen Journals.
Y'know.. I'm 40 now and we are losing so many older celebrities that I just didn't realize brought me so much comfort over the years. I'm really glad Danny Devito is still with us, and still WORKING too!

I’ve only watched the movies and this is a theory to contest all the midwits parroting the “paul atreides is bad bc jihad + religion”… I understand thats what the author wrote it to be but i have a fun interpretation that plays better with the movies. And im just sick of comment sections all saying the same exact thing. Ok here we go: Paul Atreides is a force of nature. He is inevitable - he is the tangible presence of the supernatural in a dimension where humans believe that they control the supernatural. It is a society that plays God, manipulating and overpowering the masses to achieve a secure and comfortable future, to create paradise themselves by whatever means necessary. Paul Atreides is Frankenstein. He is the T-rex from Jurassic Park. He is the cat that has gotten out of the bag. (Paul Atreides is covid too for that matter:/) Paul is obviously the byproduct of the bene (gesserit?) who have been trying to create the kwisatz haderach. However, he comes unexpectedly and out of their control: the experiment had gone awry. I understand that in the books its technically his kid that fulfills this but i mean we wouldnt get the kid without him soooo… :/ Anyways, Paul Atreides is a real messiah within this universe. He is judgement day to the wicked people who created him. His power is undeniable and the whole empire stands convicted before him. He offers them salvation; accept his reign and live, but they all refuse. Please note here that this is pride and a refusal to submit to a transcendent authority: the original sin. And for that matter, everything Paul does is justified. He has a true love for the Fremen, exemplified by Chani. His noble and innocent house was obliterated by a tyrant and a rival house, and he is expected to just go away? To roll over and die? His jihad, while incredibly violent, is not unprovoked. It is actually justified. The empire and all of its constituent houses are in unbelievable debt to the Fremen, who truly own the spice. All others in the empire cann trade and eat well and drink water. Paul Atreides and the Fremen are inherently karmic. Paul’s main enemies are the bene gesserit, the emperor, and the harkonnens. He overthrows the bene gesserit (at least from the vibes in the movie i could be totally wrong according to the books here) he dethrones the emperor, and he ends the harkonnens. All are guilty of terrible atrocities. The soft rule of the bene gesserit perhaps being the worst, and their downfall is so sweet bc they have created the monster that destroys them. In conclusion, Paul Atreides is HIM. LIISSAANN AL GAIIIB‼️

You can see Paul accepting that he is a force of nature when he comes into communion with an actual force of nature in the first movie. He goes into the sandstorm. Before the sandstorm, Paul does nothing. He is of no consequence. During the storm, Paul lets go. It is said to be impossible to survive a sandstorm of such intensity, but Paul lives. It could be argued that the universe chose that he should live. More interestingly, Paul lets go of being just Paul. (This is similar to the water of life) He allows destiny to take its course, and on the other side he finds himself.

This song perfectly conveys the gravity and conviction of Paul’s choice. He knows he became the thing he hated in the moment but at the same time every house in the known universe personally screwed his father over and almost destroyed the Atreides name. Let them all be lead to paradise.
