I had that problem with 1998 Z71. My truck did start off and on... I started the truck and disconnected my passlock while truck was running and bypassed it. I left it unplugged and turned my truck off... Now it turns on and off with no problem. That was two years ago and I have never had a problem with it not starting...

Att: This cables that he is tempering with, have got nothing to do with the security system at all. It doesn't work. Do not try to open your steering wheel covers and missed with them, it will only give you many problems, Just look for a more specific video to fix the problem in your cars. This should've been a GM recall 100%. but Dealers don't want to do or know nothing about your problem, even though they know every body with this cars have exacly the same issue. Trust me, you thank me later. I have a 2002 Yukon, I did this and more issues came out now, more problems. As I said earlier, this video has nothing to do with the issue on hand. What he's talking about here, is just opening a can of warms. Is hard to know what their motives are. Just Beware with this guys.

"PROBLEM SOLVED" after days of trouble. SPRAYED CRC "Electronic Spray" ($3 at Walmart) into my "aging ignition." (Electronic spray will not hurt the "dusty old" ignition). Unbelievable! "1998" Chevy Cavalier 2.2L engine. Chevy wanted $300 for a reset. Had it towed several times and local mechanics tried everything. Found this $3 CRC spray solution in a forum. "Security light" kept coming on. Stalled in traffic. Had to wait to start again. Looked at all the "bypass solutions" and Amazon gadgets too. When it works for you remember to share and pay-it-forward.

ive got an 02 silverado and it will start occasionally but it wont drive for more then a few seconds before it just shuts off. i was told it was the security system and after watching this vid i finally found it. thank you. i think the only other problem is i might have a bad battery because it just seems like all electricity is cut to the vehicle when it shuts off
@danielgarcia1009
Жыл бұрын
when it comes to problems like this check the battery first, check connections, and the life remaining on the battery, by pursching a battery tester, even though your vehicle starts ok the battery does not have the power to fully run all parts of the vehicle. example, my AC on my 2001 tahoe stop blowing cold air, took it to AC repair shop, they checked everything and concluded that I have an electrical problem which he knows nothing about, so I went home check my battery for life remaing, which was 34% and stated to replace battery, pursched a new battery started the vehicle, ran rough at first as ECM learning system then after minute or two cold air blowing, as they say 90% of electrial problems is battery issues......

Make : CHEVROLET Model : TAHOE Year : 2002 Manufacturer : GENERAL MOTORS CORP. Service Bulletin Number : 030138019 Replacement Service Bulletin Number: 030138019A Date of Bulletin: SEP 01, 2004. NHTSA Item Number: 10005551 Component : EQUIPMENT:ELECTRICAL: AIR CONDITIONER Summary: UNDERHOOD AIR CONDITIONER RATTLE NOISE HEARD ON ACCELERATION OR A SUDDEN LOSS OF AIR CONDITIONER SYSTEM PERFORMANCE. TO INCLUDE VARIOUS 2002-2004 COMMERCIAL UPFITTER CHASSIS VEHICLES. Condition: Some customers may comment about an underhood rattle noise heard on acceleration or a sudden loss of A/C system performance. Cause: This condition may be caused by liquid slugging of the A/C compressor. This condition may cause an internal failure in the A/C compressor. The serpentine belt tensioner and serpentine belt may also be damaged. Correction: Technicians are to check the A/C system performance and compressor operation using the following repair procedure: 1.) Open the hood and inspect the A/C compressor for damage and to see if the compressor is seized. Verify that the serpentine belt is not damaged or missing. If the A/C compressor is seized, proceed to step 5. 2.) Perform the A/C System Performance test. Refer to the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) section of SI. Correct any performance concerns or refrigerant leaks that are found. 3.) Inspect the vehicle for other possible sources of A/C compressor noise or performance concerns. Refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 01-01-38-013 for more information. 4.) After all other possible sources of A/C compressor noise or performance concerns have been eliminated, only then should the A/C compressor be replaced. 5.) Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to the A/C Compressor Replacement procedure in the HVAC section of SI. 6.) Inspect the transmission cooler lines for damage due to contact from the serpentine belt. Replace the transmission cooler lines if necessary. 7.) Install an inline A/C system filter. Refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 01-01-38-006C for more information about A/C system flushing and filter installation procedures. An A/C system flush is not to be done unless prior authorization is given by the GM Area Service Manager (in Canada, the District Service Manager). 8.) Install an A/C Suction Screen. Refer to Corporate Bulletin Number 01-01-39-003A for more information about A/C suction screen repair recommendations and procedures. 9.) Install a new A/C compressor. Refer to the Compressor Replacement procedure in the HVAC section of SI. 10.) Install a new orifice tube for the front A/C system. Refer to the Expansion (Orifice) Tube Replacement procedure in SI. Install a new serpentine belt tensioner and serpentine belt if they have been damaged due to A/C system slugging or an A/C compressor seizure. The serpentine belt tensioner may have broken stop tabs and/or a missing front cap. verify proper operation of the A/C system. Part Number: 89016656 (*A/C Delco Part# 15-10413) Description: Universal In-Line A/C Filter Parts are currently available from GMSPO. *This filter may also be purchased through your local A/C Delco distributor.

1) Pull the 3 wire connector tab out. 2) remember the wire colorcode lineup. 3) on the tab -you can push the wire release in... and pull the whole wire the fuck out. 4) make the connection piece tighter by crimping it. 5) place wires back in tab... and tab back into that bastard setup. 6) start engine *(Additional info) ecm reset can be accomplished fast by pulling all the ecm fuses.... then start (computer will relearn so don't worry). ANY bad codes will reappear anyways for scan testing. ** If you have continued problems because of security lockdown... the whole assembly needs replaced.

The problem isn't the tensioner or belt. Its the oil inside the compressor. It gets sludged up and causes the compressor to drag. It has to be replaced with the updated compressor to fix the problem.
