What was the part number of that cap you purchased from O Reilly?

Doesnt everyone change engine oil with the suction ball through the dipstick? I would think that would be the best way to drain any of these catch cans.

I ran the GFR can (original can that mounted on the engine hook location. I then installed the JP can on another ski. I like that location much more than the Riva. After learning about the Worx can that mounts on the TOPS, I installed two of them on my 300s. I love the larger size and internal pathway baffles in the Worx can and they do not spit like the other cans.

A HUGE step to installing this is to remove the bracket from the can, install the bracket, then reinstall the can. It made it so much more simple than trying to install this as one whole piece. I hope this helps someone so they dont sit and ponder how they're going to connect that bottom bolt.

@ZJMK605 it's doable, but taking the bracket off makes it so much more simple. I left the bracket on my first time and had to fumble with it some.

I just installed Riva catch cans on both of our machines. The drain valve makes me very nervous, it seems like it could very easily work it's way open just from normal riding and gravity? Has anyone heard of this happening?

Even if it does what’s the big deal? Bit of dirty oil drips in the hull and hats all that’ll happen

I did the RIVA catch can a few months back. What a pain in the ass. Those 2 bolts, especially the bottom one - WTF. I also dropped my wratchet under the engine…had to then remove the battery and was able to reach it by hand fortunately. Getting the battery out was a pain in the arse also. I like the drain/petcock valve on the RIVA…though I have to say, it’s not easy to reach with the battery in place etc. I keep my oil level low so hopefully I don’t need to drain the catch can too often. If I had it to do over again I would go Worx. That said, I went with RIVA cause they have an awesome rep and their catch cans are the gold standard for PWC’s. Don’t drop that Alan bolt on the Worx BTW! Lol The other thing about the Worx is you cannot see the oil level, so another strike against it IMO.

Good points to be sure. Can’t imagine draining the catch can once a year with oil change wouldn’t suffice even with no ability to view level. I was thinking of retrofitting a similar quick drain valve for the Worx. Maybe they will make it available in the future.

@@buckweaver4584 even at that, the Worx requires taking off the deck that covers the engine bay. Wanna check it, gotta remove that whole thing…not ideal. I like the ease of install, but overall the RIVA wins in the big picture. They both will do the job for sure, and have their pros and cons I guess! 😊
