this iem vs blessing 3 what would u pick?
@AndelMar
Жыл бұрын
I haven't tried the Blessing 3 yet, but I heard the resolution of both are pretty on par. It really comes down to the tuning and fit that would work best for you. Do you want a vocal focused iem with a bigger size and nozzle (Blessing 3), or a mild V-shape tuned iem with smooth detail in the treble with a smaller more lightweight fit (Timeless AE)? The TAE has more accessories, but if you're going for straight sound, there's not much to lose with either of these picks. Definitely do more research to find which tuning best fits your music library and other purposes if they apply. I'm planning on doing a comparison between the Timeless AE and Blessing 3 Dusk when the Dusk does eventually come out

@wana.me003
Жыл бұрын
I have both. The Obsidians blow the Blons out of the water in every way! I really love them! The low end digs deep and the slam is hard hitting. Mids shine through and vocals come out clear and crisp. I am sensitive to treble and the highs are clear but not harsh to my ears with a little bit of air. You will love sound stage on these. They are resolving but I am sure not as resolving as some of the newer stuff. I am a bass-head though, something to keep in mind and I find these amazing! I love both sets and you will not regret your purchase with these. I advice that you use wide bore tips to open the soundstage. Shells are as hefty as the Blons in build construction and you feel like you have solid performers in your hands and ears. Both are special iems and you might find yourself going back and forth with them. I am into the hobby but I don't have experience in describing sound please pardon me if I butchered any of the descriptions.

How are these compared to the Timeless AE?
@AndelMar
Жыл бұрын
Overall, the OH10 is fuller sounding, has more impact and note weight, and a more natural tone towards everything below the mid vocals. Past that the Timeless AE outclasses the OH10 when it comes to the higher vocals, treble presentation, overall detail retrieval, clarity, air, soundstage (by a mile, and imaging (also by a mile) I still keep the OH10'S around for the days where my ears aren't easily fatigued because their more natural presentation in the bass and mids are very enjoyable. In most cases, for me, the Timeless AE is the better pick, detailed bass, good mids, excellent treble, and it's very rarely fatiguing to my ears These two sets are tuned very differently, so head to head comparison isn't the simplest, but I hope I was able to answer your question in full

I don’t have the OG but have CCA PLA13, KZ PR1 Pro and Letshuoer S12 to compare with. At first hearing the AE’s bass was pretty overpowering and not much treble. So I let it burn in for a couple of hours. That seemed to work as the AE opened up in the up registers starting to sound sweet and detailed. S12 and Pr1 Pro were my favourite where S12 has that hifi sound albeit slight recess in mids but when listening side by side with the AE the S12 sounds thin. I consider the KZ a good all-rounder but comparing to AE it lacks resolution especially in the bass area. The AE will be my go to iems for now but will be on the lookout for something with better soundstage and mids.

Strange, sound stage, on my set at least, sounds like a small concert, like a moderately sized living room where a band is playing on front of or around me which is really good for iems, since iems usually don't excel at soundstage. Besides that, I'm on that same journey to find an iem that can top the experience I've had with the Timeless AE. The resolution is amazing, to say the least. Feel free to say more about your experience as you find out more, I'd be interested to hear about it since I don't hear much about the Timeless AE otherwise

Great review! I am looking for an excellent IEM that I can use for music but also for drumming as I am a drummer. Do these have good noise isolation?
@AndelMar
Жыл бұрын
Noise isolation is not the best, it dampens noise, even very harsh noises while in the ears but unless music is playing it's not hard to hear the gist of sounds around you and know what's going on, or what people are saying. This might be ok for a drum set because of how it dampens harsh noise, but if you want as much isolation from all sounds as possible than there may be better choices, maybe an iem made of a material like resin

Immaculate, very exact, very quick, you can hear it and feel it but I do personally wish there was more at times (not most times, just sometimes) Things like the Ikko OH10 And the Aful Performer 5 I feel outdo the Timeless AE in bass emphasis but the Timeless AE has such effortless control of the bass (especially the sub-bass) that it makes up for the lesser emphasis. @AndelMar
Жыл бұрын
The soundstage is wonderful on the 7hz Timeless AE, I haven't tried the Moondrop Aria but I know that soundstage in general isn't the best in iems due to how restricted the space for sound to move throughout the inside of iems is, so iems like the Timeless AE and even the original Timeless are a bit of an anomaly when it comes to soundstage even for their price ranges Even something like the Ikko OH10 ($200) a wonderful iem for the price doesn't have half as good soundstage abd imaging as the Timeless AE, so I would assume that the Moondrop Aria's soundstage isn't the best either The Moondrop Aria's are still a fairly good iem especially if you like the it's tuning but if you would ever like to upgrade from your Moondrop Aria's, I can give a few recommendations depending on your budget and what you're looking for in an iem

Got these myself! They're pretty incredible, having owned the OG Timeless I wasn't a fan of the MMCX connections, they're pretty clunky when using the MMCX-to-2pin adaptors on my UTWS5s. With the AE the sub-bass boost, 2-pin, smoothed-out treble regions, better mid-bass & improved soundstage took what was already a killer IEM and pushes it into must-own for anyone into the hobby. It's replaced my Z12 as a daily driver for now, at least until I get my incoming HBB Hook X 😁

@@AndelMar I own the original Timeless, Z12, Dioko, Truthears Zeros and the AE, the Hook should be in on the 3rd. Sure thing, I'll definitely give you my thoughts on them once I get them! As for the OG Timeless, it's a bit more clinical sounding and less balanced than the AE. The major difference in the OG tuning is that the sub-bass is -3dB less, mids are slightly more recessed, peakier treble & slightly smaller soundstage. AE improves just about everything subtly, not least of all the packaging and especially the cable.

@AndelMar

It is my favorite, and I've been going on a journey to find an iem that can compete with it, it brings detail to my music that I've never expected, it has power, it has excitement, it brings life to many tracks that I listen to, even some lower quality tracks at that, and gives a sense of being in a personal concert with your performers/artists playing on front of you, some sounds even being around you, very vivid, very fun. Actually couldn't listen to them on the second day because I had over listened to then the day before. Now, to ground myself, and not over hype this, there are 2 downsides. One, this does have a recession in the mids giving this iem a noticable v-shape, if in the few cases a track is male vocal dependent and those male vocals aren't very dynamic you will have a good playback of the song, nothing exciting, just good. And two, if mid-bass impact is something you focus on, these will not prioritize it over sub-bass, if you have a punchy song with little or no sub-bass then you have a punchy mid-bass, on the other hand if you have a balance of sub-bass and mid-bass in your track you will have a vivid sub-bass and an ok mid-bass presence.

@@reasons4171 So, 3 rock songs(Seishun 'Kyousoukyoku", "Far and Beyond", and "Go!") and I one more vocal oriented (not sure the genre it is, but the "Blue Bird") song, all of which I know from naurto I can always try more types of j-rock but they were the j-rock I would listen to on a more regular basis. To start, this iem very rarely ever gets fatiguing, peaky or harsh at least to my ears. Even at a vocal peak or cymbal crash this iem gives me the crisp detail while keeping the harshness down (that being said I have been fatigued by this iem after a long while of louder than usual listening) Now what I noticed across theses songs: Vocals are very present, very clear, with these tracks (especially "Blue Bird"). It's a very weird thing because the frequency response doesn't look like it would give much room for vocals at first glance but in real listening (for this genre of music) vocals felt very satisfying. I did mention before that this iem had a weird habit of bringing up the vocals if the vocals were well mixed along with the rest of the song (though that effect is not the same across all genres of music) Bass: The perceived bass seemed less impactful in the 3 j-rock songs that I reference today than usual. Usually it's base response is very present, not overwhelming, but present and vivid. That being said the bass was more pronounced on a track like "Seishun" and "Go!" then it was on "Far and Beyond" for one reason or another. Though I should mention that the impact was satisfactory on "Seishun" and I have heard it do better in other anime tracks. This iem has a good amount of bass that is well done and well controlled, that being said if base emphasis is your most important feature in an iem for you there are better sets out there for less money that do bass in an even more exciting way. Treble: Everything is just so on point, even a few weeks after I still find myself finding new details I've never noticed in the same tracks, no complaints on the treble, they are exact, exciting, and don't hurt my ears (and I am moderately treble sensitive) Mids: To keep things simple the mids usually range in detail and intensity, if the treble level can be considered as an obscure reference of intensity the mids usually lie within 80%-100% the intensity of the treble at any given time. The lowest the mids ever drop below the treble is in my experience with this set has been about 75%, and even at its worse the detail of the mids is never lost. I hope this info helps in your search for a good set of iems. I'd definitely recommend this set for you given this genre but in case of anything I can always give more info on this set, or recommend other sets if this set is outside of your budget currently
