anybody realize how destructive shrimping is to the ocean? They kill tons of marine life for every 10 shrimp they catch. They haul up the net and dump the dead drowned turtles overboard, which are quickly buried by fish and game before the tourists wake up, and then the shrimpers leave a ten foot pile of heaving protoplasm to suffocate on the deck. When EVERYTHING is dead and I do mean EVERYTHING, they shovel it all back into the sea while picking out the dozen or so shrimp to put them in a bucket. Then the do it again, and all within a mile of shore, where it is illegal.

I like your catch but I have a small problem the bi-Catch is wasted do what other countries are doing...Put catch in a tank of water then dip out and put on a stainless steel table use the dip net to separate the live catch sorry I used to shrimp 17 years ago using clay and fish meal and the ten poles...It's not a easy task....Well.send some shrimp to Kentucky good night fellows.👌

Porqué no aprovechan los descartes? Ya que hacen el daño con la pesca incidental de especies no buscadas, al menos hagan buen uso de ellas. Me parece un método de pesca poco selectivo y dañino.

So I guess you like the ones farmed in Vietnam in ditches with human poop and are kept unrefrigerated for who knows how long, processed in nasty facilities and then spend a couple months frozen on a boat before they get to the grocery store?

Ross Gardner The shrimp industry has been trying for years to make the perfect net to prevent by catch. There is a door in the net to let out sea turtles. And just to let you know that the Obama administration has put in so regulations that it is really not worth these guys going out. They mainly do it for the love of being out at sea. you will probably now say if they love the sea they will quit commercial fishing.

Seems like a lot of fishes lose their lives when those trawlers catch shrimp. How does this damage the fisheries?
