a very good-sounding CS80, with a perfect tuning, most of the surviving CS80s are in bad condition, beyond repair and sound out of tune. In any case, it's a very nice Vangelis-like demo... even when there is too much digital reverb applied, even for Vangelis standards!!!. All in all, a great instrument but not very practical for today's professional musicians, only for melancholic e-music freaks and collectors with a lot of free time.

Interesting point! It is rather a virtuoso instrument than a one trick pony. Like a piano or a violin. If the music is getting boring to you, it might be the performance. What you will get from the CS80 always depends on the musician.😉

@@musicjcr1970 good point, the problem is that most of the surviving CS80s are now in the hands of amateur e-music freaks and synth collectors with no playing skills. I remember the nineties and early 2000s when CS-80s were changing hands for 2000-3000 euros... those were the days!.

I find it really unfortunate that we have to endure so many pages of advertising on an account where they are music. I did a quick calculation and every 8 minutes there are 2 long pages of advertising, although it is possible to configure this on your account. I really don't see what we can gain from accepting this, especially for the listener who wants to discover new artists. The only thing to do is... move on... What I'm going to do, it's a real shame, but also unbearable... Good luck...

Thanks for the tip! I wasn't aware that the interruptions were so frequent. I don't like that myself when I listen to music on KZitem. Audibility is important for the album. That's why I've now switched off the function. I hope it woks...

@@musicjcr : Many thanks for your reply, I'm really and sincerely to listen your beautiful album. On KZitem the advertising is really atrocious because many time they are advertising all the time in other page and it is impossible to listen correctly the music. I use a adblock since long time, but today it's impossible because YT banned all people who use that. It's a really shame and for having no advertising you must pay a premium account... :( Well, have a nice day and wonderful music and many thanks for your reply :)

It sounds absolutely amazing. Mine is still a bit wonky and as im not skilled, at all, in repairing synths im having it done later this year. There's an expert nearly who can circumvent the custom yamaha chips and build in auto tuning of the vco's so really looking forward to that upgrade. But your post is an inspiration for sure. @@musicjcr

Nothing comes close to this wonderful synth - just the richness of the sound. The top end cuts through anything, the middle is full-bodied and warm, and the bass is rich and full without ever being boomy or overpowering. I have a number of software emulations and, whilst they seem reminiscent enough of that CS-80 sound when you're noodling away on them, none of them has this richness of sound, the overall warmth... every sound in this demo seems just so well balanced tonally - there is nothing too harsh or overpowering, every single sound seems to fill the sonic spectrum just perfectly. And the other thing that emulations can't do is the physical feel of this beast. I have had the good fortune to have played a CS-80, and owned a CS-50 for many years. It's the way the sounds respond to aftertouch, ribbon, and also the way those rocker switches feel to the fingers - completely different to ordinary knobs or sliders, almost like an extension of the hand. The ring modulator, in particular, is a really, really special feature, unique to the CS range. Looking at some of these pics, I can almost smell the heat coming off it 🙂 An absolutely beautiful demo.
