Thank you for posting this video. I have a 2wd Tundra so I was able to skip the diff drop, but the section on the hydraulic lines really helped me get over a hurdle. Bushings replaced, alignment done, truck is better than when I got it. (I bought it used with unknown steering damage).

Wonder if this can be done with without removing the diff if I’m lifted 6”. I’d prob take the inner tie rods off cause it’s quick and easy, less hassle getting the rack in and out that way. But I don’t have anyone to help me do my work so I look for little things to help me lol. I did my full lift install alone, that front diff can be a pain in the ass. What works well is a motorcycle jack! I’m lucky to have one.

Man, first of all thank you very much, you are the only reason my Stream is still functional, I had never heard of Refind before. Still, I cannot manage to get it to boot without the USB stick. I've got Windows installed on the new SSD, the internal eMMC formatted and assigned a letter, I copied the EFI folder from the USB stick to the eMMC and it still doesn't boot from the new SSD without the stick inserted. With the stick inserted everything works just fine, but upon powering up the PC without it inserted all I see is a black screen telling me to install on operating system as none was found. How do you did you format the eMMC? How did you copy the EFI folder in it after formatting? Simple drag and drop or you used some tool? Also, what does your boot order look like in your BIOS? Cheers man

On power up start tapping the ESC key to Enter BIOS check and see if Legacy Boot is Enabled ( Default is Disabled ), if Disabled, Enabled. After restart and on power up tap F9 for Boot Order, if the laptop is booting fine from USB and not from the drives, USB may still be set as Priority Boot Device. Just a Thought, but in any case I am just under taking this Upgrade this weekend, I will have a video of my progress and I hope I have gathered all the information from all the videos I have seen.

@@BudgetBuildBarry Thank you for your response mate. After writing this comment I did enable legacy boot and moved the USB down in the boot priority order, but that didn't affect the problem. It's still booting fine with the usb stick inserted and not finding an OS without the stick. Something is preventing the rEFInd install on the eMMC from booting and for the life of me I cannot understand what it is. I'll be following your progress to see if we can sort it out, for sure! What exact model do you have? Mine is the ax011nl, the one with the N3060, 32 GB eMMC and 4 GB of RAM which I upgraded to 8 GB, and that works just fine despite the mobo documentation saying 4 GB was the maximum. Both the original and the upgraded sticks are rated for 1866 MHz, but they both run at 1600 MHz and there is no way to overclock it from the BIOS, which is already quite weird in itself: why would they ship a 1866 stick that only runs at 1600? Bah...

Worked perfectly for me. Bought the wrong adapter and ssd. Windows setup won't recognize Msata drives, so I had to use an NVMe drive instead. A few important things to note is that when you format the old EMMC drive, you must use the FAT32 file system and legacy support must be enabled in BIOS. Took some troubleshooting, but I'm pretty sure this is what you need to do in order for this method to work.

This worked for me. Model # 14-ax012ds. 32gb version. I used the first link posted and only installed Refind on the USB. I created Windows 10 install USB and changed BIOS to boot from USB first. Ran USB install and deleted all partitions on 32gb drive as well as 500gb drive I installed. Installed windows on the 500gb drive and when it restarted to finish setup, I removed Windows stick and installed Refind USB as well as USB wireless adapter. Windows finished install and I then let windows update install all updates and drivers. Once done, I downloaded AOMEI partition assistant and cloned the refind usb drive to the 32 gb drive. Then I used AOMEI to change partition size of the 32gb drive to 1gb, removed the drive letter and made it hidden. Lastly, took the remaining 30gb of the built in drive and partitioned as D drive. Changed BIOS boot order back and removed Refind stick. Now boots off the hidden partition and works fine. Thanks for the link.

Procedure used on an HP Stream (14-ax040wm) 1) Iso Windows 10 - Partition Scheme in GPT and File System in Fat32 2) BIOS - Legacy disabled. USB as a priority. Install System on SSD which is connected to wifi port through m2 adapter. 3) When restarting after installation, enter BIOS and enable legacy support. Leave USB as priority and insert the pen drive with refind (2015 version). 4) Enter the operating system and create a partition on the EMMC of 100 mb. Format as fat32. Copy the EFI folder from the refind pen drive to this partition. Hide the partition by removing the letter assigned to the drive. 5) Enter the bios, in the legacy boot sequence, put notebook hard drive as priority.
