Mississauga, Brambladesh (used to be called Brampton), Toronto, Vancouver, surrey, The Peg... I can tell you these patels are mild. every time i had a paki for either a slumlord or an employer they lied, cheated, stole wages, tried to swindle on leases and rent payments - every trick they could pull. i could make a suggestion about what it's gonna take to deal with these three vermin but i can't put it on YT.

so sad, but to live in these places you have to live with minimal stuff, you just have to wash clothes and bedding more. 5 pieces of clothes for 5 days, underwear, shirts, pants, bras. don't try to have so much. wear your clothes 2 times instead of just once. if the family does this you can eliminate so much clutter. and a bag for everyone to put their things in. one set of bedding and like I said have to do laundry more. it's not easy I know but it can be done. I had to do it myself and go to work, I had very little, wore and washed the same thing over and over. mostly dark jeans and darker color tops. but my room was neater than most.
@Scriptorsilentum

i noticed. this. look, something has to give. the suggestions you made are solid gold. i'd go seven pieces of clothing. the kids are old enough to learn laundry. one toiletries bag for shampoo conditioner, soaps, toothpaste. each person has their own toothbrush, deodorant, razor (?) in a small ziploc baggie. i lived like this in the back of a ford ranger with uninsulated leaky cap for almost three years. i was clean, sane, groomed.

How much do you think people can get from welfare???? Honestly, it’s not much. If anyone is receiving a check, it’s because they are disabled or elderly or their child’s other parent died…. END OF STORY. TANF (cash assistance) is only offered for 3 months maximum and most states require drug testing in order to receive it and you must be actively seeking employment in order to get it at all. Same with food stamps…. If you don’t have a job or are not in school or training after 3 months, you get cut off and can’t even reapply for another 2 years (at least in my state, Delaware). So, you people with your “welfare queen” stereotypes are so absolutely mistaken that it isn’t even funny and the scary part is that you people vote. Honestly, how many poor people do you personally know who are abusing the system??? I’m not saying that it doesn’t happen, but the government has cracked down on that stuff and it’s pretty difficult to do. You certainly don’t live well off of government handouts, I’ll tell ya that much! And section 8??? The waitlist is over 5 years in most places!!!

I understand that SF-based corporations contribute little to local homeless efforts. Whether this is true or not, I do not know. However, I suspect it IS true. With all the money the high tech companies earn, why do their officers not contribute healthy sums toward helping all the many SF homeless recover their lives?

1. The law is not meant to be enforced as written. If every person who sat had an encounter with a police officer, this would feel like a police state. 2. The requirement of evidence isn't a hurdle: Does the city want to adopt ordinances that make it easier to prosecute by getting rid of evidence? 3. Criminality defined solely by police discretion has very, very bad historical precedent. We are going to allow the police to pick and choose the bad guys.

We just deleted a comment for inappropriateness, but that comment effectively suggested that this was the only way to clean the sidewalks. It is, in fact, possible to clean the sidewalks without soaking homeless people. The Department of Public Works program in this video is not currently in operation, but DPW still cleans Central City sidewalks.
@grannygear

Those trucks are supposed to clean the streets, not the sidewalks. I have lived here for 40 years, and I never saw such treatment of the poor. There have always been rich and poor in Sf, but when I moved here the rich used to care about the poor. And in 1986, they used to come around and wake the homeless before they watered the grounds around city hall. Where are we going. And I can only pity those who have shown no compassion in their comments here.
@OMNIFICPICTURES

People should be more concerned about how the city treats it's poor. In a city the size of SF with the resources it has there is no excuse for the cruelty it hurls at the most vulnerable. Poverty should be replaced with opportunity.

Try telling that to the crazy dude running in traffic trying to fight everyone with syringes in his hand who lives by fisherman's wharf. Most of the homeless can't be helped and are only on our streets because they migrated here from other cities more strict on homelessness
