The rhombic dodecahedron nests in all the shapes, the regular dodecahedron has gaps, the Rhombic turns into a cube, the Rhombic fits into flower of life perfectly because the rhombic fits inside a hexagram shape, the hexagram is found throughout nature so the rhombic dodecahedron should replace the regular dodecahedron.

I guess you'd have to laser cut this on the unsilvered side, so the beam doesn't just get reflected.

because it's a rhombus - just say the edge length is x because every edge is x, and x can be whatever you want it to be..

I too start with only having a dremel. I think I would first cut a diagonal with corners at 70.529° and 109.471°. Then draw the grid of rhombi. Now you'll see you have multiple strips of rhombi. Then you cut the strips into rhombi. Much easier because as humans we can do the same thing multiple times in a row faster than doing two things interleaved.

Could you share a link where you got that acrylic 2 way mirror from? I am planning for a dodecahedron with pentagons as the sides. I want to avoid using a foil but all the offers for coated acryl panels I found until now are destroying my budget :( great video with good explanations

Hey! If you love to tinker, buy acrylic pattern AND transparent mirror-window film. Then: flex the acrylic plates, paste the film on the plates and finally cut the film in the right form. Lovely greetings.

Gah! The singular of “vertices” is “vertex”. It’s one of my pet peeves. So many people get that mixed up. Even Adam Savage did in his video.

I wouldve tried to score and snap the acrylic. That mask does almost nothing for dust, need m95 valve or respirator. Looks good I like the starry effect.
