Born in 1966 and spent my teens growing up in the 80's...I do not give a rats fart what you think of this song but back in the day I loved it because it made me feel happy. And also the 2 bottles of Merrydown cider I had consumed on the local park bowling green an hour earlier also helped me to appreciate this little ditty fro Mathew Wilder.

I saw that clip too. I wonder sometimes that those wonderful creatures are swapping stories about the thick humans who be extinct in 20 years. A victim of their own stupidity.

Great song but I live through 80s. They weren’t that great. No people didn’t have social media, but they certainly did have MTV cocaine and mountains of weed. Oh and then there’s AIDs epidemic. That was swell. And I believe that Crystal meth started its wonderful plague on America in the late 1980s. Oh yeah, and there was an El Torito in the town I lived in… It was a big hook up bar. There was actually a guy that used to wander around that bar and out personal business cards to women telling them he was a good fuck. For real. That actually happened. Thanks very much, but I pretty much hated the 80s. If I had to transport back to another decade in my life, it would definitely be the chill 70s. The 80s sucked.

Who knew back then, that what sounded like a simple song would go on to be one of those songs that would define the 80's, an awesome decade for fun, music, family and life in general?

Loved this song as a kid. Gets in your head for days. What I failed to spot at the time that was that he modelled himself on Terry McDermott, the Liverpool footballer.

1983. Graduated from college. Received my army officerw commission after completing ROTC with honors. Got orders to report to Fort Benjamin Harrison for my OBC. Met a lovely female officer in my class. Only had limited time, but i gave it all i had. We were like bunnies. Inwas driving her to dinner one night at a very nice restaurant when this song came on. Brings back so many good memories.
