I have the same mower, but the PTO is only for the blades. 🤷♂️

I never knew these rims existed till the other day when someone stole one of the tires and wheels off my garden cart. they left me one of these split ones that had a totalled out flat tire on it they just took mine off and put theirs on . I ordered a tire and tube and today I was putting it on and discovered it splits in half if you take all the nuts and bolts out wow is this the easy way to change one of these tires I wish they would have left me the other one for the other side too. I love these no struggle at all to replace a tire and the tube always goes in straight and no chance of it getting twisted. a 5 minute job thank you for the demo

Thanks for this. The rubber on mine acted like they were glued to the rim so I was beginning to think I was going about it all wrong. Watching this let me know I just needed to keep working at it and finally one of the rims came out.

How do you stop the inner tube from being pinched between the rims?
@the1stkujo
2 жыл бұрын
I added a bit of air to the inner tube. Takes a bit of trial and error to get enough air in there to keep it out of the middle where it would get pinched but not so much where it's rubbing while you put the rim back together. I know this isn't an exact answer but I haven't replaced it often enough to have a defined routine yet. Thanks for the question and watching the video!

Hey man, thanks for the video! I needed to see both the blade belt installation as well as the how to fix my clutch popping. It actually only pops in 5 gear, but u solved both my problems.

You know I never mentioned it but I was in the same boat. It would only pop in the higher gears and gradually got to where it popped in all gears. Happy the video was helpful!!

My reverse works properly but does not actually move the mower unless I'm backing down hill lol. Mine is a 48" tho. I love it but I'm pulling the 14hp Kohler Command singal cylinder engine off and putting on a 16hp or maybe 18hp. I also have a 48" MTD PRO hydro-drive that's older but I like them both for sure. My profits increased with them. Good luck to you sir and nice piece of equipment you got there

Mine does the same thing in reverse. I thought I did something wrong but I've seen that issue mentioned on other sites as well so I figure if I want a mover that reverses I should get the zero turn version. But overall I've been very happy with it. Thank you!

Also if you already don't know those springs have a nut right above them. If your clutch ever starts slipping you can tighten those nuts. But make sure you only do like ½ turns on each then run a test and make sure each nut is turned equally.

My mower shop failed to tighten clutch twice on my zero turn. Rattle noisy and shaking. Finally noted bolt for clutch was gone and clutch about to fall off bottom of motor. It's hard for one person to verify torque when they only use impact wrench to tighten without locking engine shaft. Try engaging clutch with engine OFF or remove spark plug and insert rope into hole until chamber is full and stops rotation then tighten clutch bolt.

It worked for quite a while when I got it replacedthe 1st time. It had the issue when I bought it so knew I'd have to get it replaced. It gradually started popping again from time to time and not pulling periodically untill it was non-stop and would no longer pull. Was very annoyed to have to spend that money again so I made the attempt to do it myself. I was skeptical as well but it's still pulling with no popping. If it does start popping again I'll be sure to make another post with the details.

Actually mine was so loose that I was able to tighten it up for quite a bit before it turned the engine. So I assumed I would have to do it again very soon but so far I haven't. If I have to do it again I'll try to figure out how to lock the engine shaft so I can tighten it down real good.

Was your pto also slow to engage? Maybe 5-6 and not engage at all once warm? I’m having the same issue and wondering if this is my issue as well
@davidstepeck2644

@@kendallneal2427 once warm my PTO would not engage. My wife or one of the kids would come out to ask me a question and I’d shut the blades off then could not get them to re-engage. In your Scag owners manual, there’s a section called “Electric Clutch Adjustment”. See that section or look it up online if you don’t have the owners manual. When the clutch is disengaged, the air gap between the armature and rotor must be adjusted to fifteen thousandths of an inch, which is 0.015, for proper operation. The air gap adjustment is made at three bolts on the clutch and there are three inspection windows one next to each adjusting bolt. Adjust each gap to 0.015 with a feeler gauge and you should be all set, then tighten the three bolts. Let me know how you made out. Also, here’s a link to the owners manual for just this item: www.ganos.com/electricclutchtesting.pdf
