Subscribed. Love my Milwaukee 1901, but considering this Fastback as well. Carrying the 1901 and the Leatherman Wave give me just about everything I need for pocket tools, but would be nice to leave the Wave at home sometimes.

Yeah, there is a line when it comes to multi tools. As soon as I start thinking about all the things I can carry in my pockets I quickly end up with too much. It’s hard to pare down from a multitool without feeling naked. lol. I ended up keeping my multitool in my backpack, that way I have it nearby if I need it. Some guys might leave it in their glove box. That said, if it doesn’t bother you to carry it, why change? For me, 90% of what I use my multitool for is cutting, screwdriver, and bottle opener of course. So I rarely feel I am missing out with the fastback. All depends on what you do from day to day. Cheers!

I just got the fast back, the newer model with the metal ball and I can't get the blade storage to work, the liner lock seems kinda loose and won't keep the blade in, just falls out, am I doing something wrong or the quality control on the newer models just aren't that good?

I bought the Klein because the pocket clip on the Milwaukee Fastback is wire and I've bent them out of shape several times. The Klein is solid metal. I'll let you know if I break it

Right on. Yeah I like that clip on the Klein. It is the same clip that is on my workpro knives. I haven't had an issue with my the fastback clip yet, but I could see that happening. Especially if a guy is crawling around in tight spaces like a plumber or electrician.

@@NickDoesThings- I drive tri dump for a paving company and labor. I had a Milwaukee Fastback and the pocket clip got caught on my steering wheel getting in and out of the truck. It got bent several times. The Klein hasn't done that yet.

Kershaw makes a standard blade knife obviously the point of this video was to highlight utility razor blade stlyes. But the Kershaw “select fire” has a bit storage mechanism identical to that Hart. But it has a driver like the Klein with a magnet. I really like that Kershaw a lot. I just replace the bits with my most used Milwaukee bits. Anyways great video sir!

I like Milwaukee but their bits suck. I use wiha best bits ive ever found. Ive tried most brand names even snap-on, matco,dewalt an many more i can't remember (or more likely can't spell) lol. what bits do you find very useful. I highly recommend wiha. I changed to them on a 3 level deck build. I was using other brand bits like 5 a day. Bought wiha used 3 bits for the rest of the job and that was because i lost 2 bits on a extention with a broken magnet.

Hi Guys!!! Awesome video! Thanks Dude! Hey, for saw blade and file storage, I used a 1" PVC pipe about 12" long with caps on the end (no gluing). I hammered one cap on and the other cap, I cut several slits in it to make it easy to get off without falling off. And, for bit and other small item storage, I've found several good plastic boxes in the fishing and craft sections at Walmart. 🙂
@NickDoesThings-

Right on man! The pvc pipe hack is a good idea! I am constantly looking for little boxes and storage solutions of bits and blades. I recently ordered a bunch of small containers off Temu. They should come in super handy

24:24 The Hart is the same tool as Milwaukee it’s just the brand is meant for cheaper pricing and it’s commissioned by Walmart the manufacture is TTI. All HART tools are Milwaukee tools it’s just name differently just for Walmart.
@NickDoesThings-
3 ай бұрын
Yeah, I know TTI acquired heart a few years ago to fill out their hand-tool line. But just because the same conglomerate owns multiple brands, doesn't mean the brands are the same. Different companies with different engineers and designers using different materials to different tolerances, manufactured in different places (most typically). Half the power tools at HD are TTI, but they are still different brands whose differences are more than the color of plastic. Although, sometimes you do find some that are just a rebrand of the same product. Thats always funny. Red must be an expensive color! 🤣

That one bit looks like a PlusMinus/Pozidriv and looks almost like a Combination tip used in in the US in electrical outlets, panels, etc. I'd be interested to see if that would work. Couldn't quite tell from the video if it might work.
@NickDoesThings-
4 ай бұрын
It will sort of work, but not well. You would be better off just using a square or slotted. However, Wiha does make a tip for that exact fastener you are referencing. But it is only sold in American markets. So because I purchased this from Europe, it was not included. I did order one on Ebay though. I might make a short follow-up to this video talking about these tools after a bit of use.

I love the toughbuilt clip tech pouches. I have had tool bags/backpacks/rolling stacks. But now most of my tools are in pouches and I can put the job specific ones on my belt. Bc everything else ends up just being catch alls and next thing I know I’m just carrying way too many tools putting strain on my back and shoulders carrying a bunch of crap I don’t need.

It's slightly bulkier than my usual Mexican electricians rig: tool bag on the right, supply left, bit\demo bag behind tool, additional supply (canvas Klein bolt bag on left, leaves the center spot, either a framing hammer, a drill, hackzall, or even a T bar and a pair of flatbars, nobody makes that bag but Mexica. But yeah, if you don't have to go far, bags and totes are twtg, I literally had to buy a massive mouth roller just to hold the belt lol. But fully loaded, I didn't even need the suspenders, and could just thread a doorway without having to turn sideways!
