As a pipe bending mold, I use and recommend a full.size steel coffee or industrial food can. Put in a sink of cold water. Wrap your.pipe in aluminum foil, place in a 325° F oven for about 10 minutes, or when pliable. Take out with oven mitts you don't mind getting soaked and quickly wrap to desired curvature around the water-submerged can. If you don't get it right, just re-heat an re-do as necessary.

You can make them way heavier relative to size if you mix in some old tire weights from a local tire shop. Yeah sure most of them have lead in them so don't lick your Kettlebells, and a paint coating will seal them up nicely.

Best DIY kettlebell tutorial I’ve found. Gonna do it! The sand-inside-the-pvc technique was particularly cool.

I used a basketball. Came out great. An adult regulation basketball will weigh in anywhere from 30 to 34 lbs.

Would you definitely recommend the brush-on/can version of the bedliner coating or would the spray-on version work just as well?
@RedfishCarolina

Honestly you can paint them with anything you want, concrete holds any paint sufficient for this, even leftover latex paint. Gloss or semigloss works better, repels water better.

those look awesome. I assume you left the fishbowls on there? or did you remove them? Is there a chance they will crack (if you left them on)?
@Barackrifle

I think that is why he used plastic. If they crack he would just break the rest off, it would still work
@Vikram-fq7ot

Your concrete mix is too dry....it needs to be on the wet side . Also u should attach a small iron to the steel cable to prevent losening of handles....besides you can also put concrete in the plastic handles to make them even more strong. 👍

Wow, thanks for this tutorial. Very clear and concise. KB prices have gone up due to the pandemic home workout demand or they are out of stock. I have 2 questions, if anyone tried this. 1. Do both your KBs weigh same, assuming you followed a reasonably consistent process for both? 2. Will the plastic eventually crack? If so, I was thinking it might be better to just heat, cut and rip out the plastic before painting? I can buff the concrete if needed. If the plastic is not going to crack then obviously leaving it is much better. thanks!! Now I know what to do with the bags of rapidset and some PVC pipes lying in my garage! Just need to purchase the fish bowls.
