You mentioned that you needed to replace the pull switch, but didn't show and tell what switch you put in. I have the exact same wattage limiter and the lights are not "flickering"... that are blinking in a steady beat.

You need to replace the “light”pull switch to a basic on and off one. I got mine at ACE today. The one that’s in the unit is made for the voltage limiter you need a basic on n off one “light pull switch” from any hardware store. Make sure it’s light and not fan

@@AZplinkster91 Thank You! My Bahama-Style rattan fan already had an "on-off" pull chain switch. All I had to do was cut the limiter out, reconnect to two wires (black & white) and my fan is working beautifully. I did add a sticker to the light to "Use LED Bulbs ONLY". It is in a rental unit and to be safe I added into the lease of that unit to contact me for a free bulb if one or more of them goes out.

Pretty confusing, but I was still able to figure it out with this video. Lights are working again after almost 8 years of them not working. 😅 Like the other guy said, this is the only thing I could find for the 6 wire limiter. I looked once a long time ago, and there was nothing. So, thank you for this video.

Ive experienced a similar problem but with a different solution. Light either went out completely or would turn off & would turn bac on temporarily with the remote. Solution was to replace the remote receiver. Happened to me twice on different lights replaced the part everyones says it didnt help

Looks great, and with a brighter bulb installed that’s all the light you need. kzitem.infoUgkxWF88GpljEn-0o34vtLFazEQ5h5Q33SjU As far as ease of installation- this was my first ceiling fan and it took about 3 hours because I had no idea what I was doing and also it’s helpful to have a second set of hands and a magnetic drill bit. Works great.

This was a big help. Thanks for posting this informative video. In my case, I had updated the dimmer and LED lamps, and nothing light related worked. Of course, Hunter no longer supported my fan, and they basically said, "good luck" finding an xyz wiring harness. Forget that non-sense attempting to find a component that is no longer needed and causes issues to begin with.

If your fan has a remote, try holding down the light on switch for 3seconds to control the brightness

I just installed a Harbor Breeze chain pull style fan, with 1 bulb. My wall switch is a Leviton rocker type switch, but also has a dimmer / slider in it. I'm noticing when I turn the switch on, the fan light does a slow strobe, until I move the switch slider up and down, or turn the switch off and on again. This happens every time. There is also a slight hum, the more I lower the dimmer slider, which slows the fan speed and dims the light. As far as connections between the fan and ceiling/house wires, I have all green grounds connected together, the blue and black from the fan connected to house black, and the house red capped off with no connection to it. Not sure if this is the problem, or if I should get rid of the dimmer switch, since I don't really care about being able to dim the light or adjust the fan speed aside from the 3 built in speeds.

I have the exact same light as yours. Finding it very difficult to find the correct replacement part. Thanks for the great idea of eliminating that controller altogether. I didnt use the dimming switch much anyway. Got a simple new on off pull switch and works perfectly. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for posting this. This is the only video I've seen that adresses the 6 wire limiter. I followed your video and my light works perfectly now. Never would have thought about changing out the switch either if it wasn't for your video.

I installed two matching fans a few years ago for my mother-in-law. She changed out the incandescent bulbs for LEDs. One fan became troublesome, and I diagnosed the very same issue. The difference being that the fan limiter in this particular model only had four leads and, in fact, was easier to fix. Each lead had a little plug: male to female, so could be easily bypassed by simply removing the limiter device and reconnecting the respective hot and neutral leads. There was no power switch issue to deal with. Thanks for your very comprehensive presentation.

One day, I came home and found my ceiling fan was on and the lights were flashing. I called Hunter and they diagnosed the problem for me. I discovered that another cause of the problem is the receiver on my remote to control the ceiling fan went bad. To fix, I replaced the wall remote and the receiver and my flashing lights problem was fixed.
