I have the exact same problem, how did you manage to solve this ? That’s if you have

I have. Meant to upload a comprehensive video, but got busy with life. I'll try to describe it here though, if that helps. In summary, you'll need to take the door card off with the door closed, fiddle with the physical actuator internals to unlatch the hinge, and replace the door actuator. So have one ordered and ready; they are available from lots of euro part shops online or the dealer if it's the only option. Step 1: The door card has to come off (you might be able to get away with just peeling the rear section, but it's just a pain as long as it's there). To get it completely off, first you need to remove the window switches. Use a trim tool to pop it out from the front and work to angle back, but be carful as the clips are built in. Once the window switches are loose, unclip the cable, it has a small latch. You need to unscrew the 3 torx screws I showed/referred to. (1 in the back and 2 in the grab handle behind the trim) I don't remember what size they are, but go slow and try not to strip any of them. If you do, it's not the end of the world, but the one in the top of the grab handle is super awkward to reach. To extract by hand, you'd need a very short stubby driver or a right angle drill if that's too difficult. Once you have the screws out you can start to pull the door card off. Easiest starting position is the rear of the door. Obviously the sections close to the top are easiest. Down by the seat where it's tight might be a bit hard, but it's definitely doable. I would say don't worry about the clips, you WILL BREAK some; they're just a few cents online. Do be VERY CAREFUL with the wires though. As mentioned above remove the window switch wires, and there will be 2 additional wires for the speakers, and 1 for actuator (although this will be mostly protected behind the insulator) Once you have as much of the door card as you can unclipped, you'll notice the only part left is the front part that butts up to the dash. The only way I know that is physically possible to unclip this part is to turn the door card up toward the front of the car. (Clockwise on the driver's side, counter-clockwise on the passenger side) This is the part where you absolutely will probably break some clips and even scratch and dent the door card (won't break it, but don't expect a show car finish unless you plan to replace the door card). This is also the part where you have to be SUPER CAREFUL for the speaker wires. That's all for the door card. Here is a video that shows the full process with the door open. kzitem.info/news/bejne/qquHqIGdiphlg4Y Now comes the actuator... Step 2: Whatever is preventing the door from unlatching needs to be addressed. Based on weeks I spent dealing with this, it could be one of 2 things: If you're lucky, the locking mechanism within door actuator will have stop working due to the plastic gear inside wearing out. This is not too bad, as an internal wheelthat is connected to it will be visible inside the actuator - all you need to do is push it up, rotating it towards the back with small flathead screw driver. There are a few of videos that illustrate this like this one: kzitem.info/news/bejne/w4p5raiqfJOIiKw If you're unlucky, the solution above ^^ will not work and you might find that you can push on and spin the lever an entire 360 and it still won't work. If this is the case, it means your issue is like mine and the physical plastic linkage that connects to the latch deep inside has broken. All the shops I went to looked at it for an hour and simply told me the door had to be cut. This was not an option. So I took it a friend who is a literal wizard, and he noticed that the door actuator was made up of 2 parts that are held together by rivets (in older revisions) or small screws(in newer revisions) There is a part that will be visible and accessible when you take the door card off, and a part that holds the latch components that's deep inside the door jam area. You'll need some force here. You need to grab on to the visible part with some sort of strong hook and physically break it away from the section that holds the latch. At that point, find someone with very small hands and have them reach in and physically unlatch the door from the latch internals (My friend did this part on his own, so unfortunately I can't explain it in great detail. Good luck!

@@justbrowsingthx8599 Thankyou so much I couldn’t find anything anywhere of how to explain that the door was locked on to the car. I opened it and now just waiting on a replacement part. Cheers

Hello I’ve got one last question, did you have to do coding to make it work or was it plug and play with the one you bought. There’s one on Amazon that seems right for it but I don’t know

@@ellish5133 For the new actuator it was plug and play. At least for a genuine BMW part, not sure about the one on Amazon.
