The evil greed, and hypocrisy, the corruption and pain caused by the Sackler Family, has been, and continues to be, the most odious and disgusting method of addiction I have ever seen in forty years on the street as a patriotic, American addict. It is directly because of that families lust for money that hundreds of thousands of Americans died and millions more whose lives were ruined, that opened up our culture to the poison Chinese Fentanyl being pumped onto the streets of our great nation today! Our lawmakers are not doing their job! Hold the Sackler's accountable! (And the CCP!)

In a case against Purdue Pharma, under pressure from Purdue lawyer Rudy Giuliani, Brownlee agreed to modify the prosecution so that Purdue Pharma's holding company, Purdue Frederick, would plead to a single misbranding charge so that Purdue Pharma would not have a criminal conviction on their name, which would prevent them from doing business with the U.S. Government. Brownlee also gave Purdue Pharma immunity from further prosecution up to and for future offenses after this plea deal, continuing until 2007.[2] Despite this outcome, on July 31, 2007, Brownlee testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee regarding his investigation of Purdue and its executives."[3] Ben Cardin stated that Brownlee's work "will have a major impact on corporate conduct in our country."[4]

Does anyone here find it unusual how the Sackler's interactions with each other are more business like than family like? They don't seem to talk about other stuff than business. I find it weird that Richard told his own father that he ruined a perfectly good evening. I also found it weird Kathe Sackler told her own father that his time is done.

He sat back and designed one of, If Not The MOST Addictive Drug on Earth. PERIOD. And they knew it the moment they put that chemical structure into pill format. Oxycodone has stimulating and pain relieving effects whilst releasing huge amounts of dopamine AND when they designed this drug they were going for dopamine release which covers pain. And i Know Your All going to Say I'm crazy for saying this BUT There's a Spell cast over that drug there's an evil attachment a spiritual side as most will tell you becomes apparent during Withdrawals from this compound, and the withdrawal is life threatening & To think They Told Everyone This Drug Is Non Addictive in The Beginning. How many survivors did Rudy pull out of the rubble of his city? I do know he used 9/11 to try to remove the mayoral term limits of NYC and push himself onto a 3rd ballot, only after attempting to cancel the November elections after they were delayed 3 months. That happened. Dude is a power-hungry scumbag who doesn’t care one iota about democracy. Just like Trump.

Perdue isn't the only Big Pharma company who pushed their product through seminars using sketchy data. Other companies held weekend getaways at fancy hotels for educators to teach them how to spot the signs of ADD and ADHD to push their Ritalin!! Free samples of all kinds of drugs started showing up at Doctors Offices and Clinics in the 90s. How do street level drug dealers get customers??...give away the first sample of their product, then charge them when they return....drug dealing 101. In that same time frame you also started seeing ads on TV for prescription medication. With that said, I am in NO WAY defending Perdue Pharmaceutical or any member of the Sackler family...but I hope everyone remembers this is a series BASED on actual events. Even the producers of this series admit they have no basis whatsoever that this conversation ever took place. It should be noted here as well, since Giuliani's name is mentioned...that the U.S. attorney prosecuting the case against Perdue, John Brownlee, also mentioned here agreed to the terms Giuliani proposed in getting a conviction of Perdue Pharma. Brownlee himself admitted later that he never intended to remove OxyContin from the market as he felt there would always be patients requiring it. His intention was only to stop how they marketed their product!!

I realize they dramatized things for this TV series but I hope the real men who brought down the legal dope dealers were just as pure. Nobody should ever suffer with addiction to illegal drugs, so the idea of people being lied to and completely misled regarding how extremely addictive opiates are is utterly horrifying. I realize that medical practitioners/doctors/etc do need reliable medications but the way these filth actually lied and bought off the FDA is disgusting.
@danmoore6062
2 жыл бұрын
Okay so they dulled dopamine receptors through the introduction of artificially satisfying this biological mechanism with opiates...effectively training the body to disrupt this process as it adjusts to the new "free" resource. The bodies ability to naturally produce dopamine was effectively dulled creating addiction. You suddenly needed to go to the doctor for something that your body had originally been naturally producing. Understand this wasn't an accident. Look at the current landscape....do you see any other bodily systems that the medical establishment may be attempting to subvert and replace right now....? See the correlation with your immune system response and these lovely injections you've all been conned into receiving? The longer you participate the more you will compromise your immune system's natural functionality which is the true purpose of this entire thing......don't believe me? I don't care anymore...just do me a favor please Hulu and please get Michael Keaton to star when you guys do the COV1D movie where you blame everything on money and greed! Guys just a great actor...

This is probably a stupid comment, but the scary thing about this scene is that they know what they've been doing and that it has been destroying lives. It's implied throughout the series that Richard genuinely believes that what he is doing is relieving people's chronic pain. But this scene shows that they know they are misleading people, and have to lawyer up.

Richard along with the other sacklers are all narcissistic in the way they deny that they have any responsibility for the opioid epidemic. They all know behind the curtains it's all a big scam and a way to filter money through distributing narcotics as non addictive or safe to use. I had to watch this show a couple of times to kinda see it but even arthur knew what he was doing when he came up with psychic tension and added valium to be taken with a list of antipsychotics, hence more money to be made for the company. There is no true philanthropy among purdue pharma. Whatever they think they are, they arent lol

Even one of their executives, being a lawyer, was charged with a misdemeanour. The crazy thing about all of this is, a Company with enough equity can lobby high up the Government chain to alter prosecutions against them. In essence, they can go over the prosecutors heads and straight to the Attorney Generals Department.
