Say what you like, 4th Doctor said there are only 12 regenerations/incarnations, 12 is the end product, I even feel like he was written that way, I never watched Jodie, I'm trying REALLY hard with Ncuti, but Peter Capaldi was *The Doctor* for me

I’ve heard people say that Twelve’s love for Clara was like that of a Father. Nowhere is that clearer than here. A parent loves their child unconditionally. There is no hurt, no violation, no betrayal that can diminish that love.

I know a lot of Doctor Who fans won't be Christian but this line is the love that Jesus came to show people. "Do you think I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference." ❤

"So what now? What do we do now, you and me, what happens now?" "Fuck off." "Wha..." "We need gas money, so we're going to have a community fuck-off. It's like a bake-off, but with less baking and more fucking." On a serious note, it was hard to watch Clara go from being "the impossible girl" to "the _unbearable_ girl."

Ngl, after Kill The Moon, I turned against Capaldi as the Doctor, probably becuase I was huge fan of Matt Smith and thought the grumpiness of 12 was unbearable compared to 11 who was the perfect balance of whimsy and danger. But this two part finale, especially the "I am an idiot" speech before defeating the Cybermen was perfect enough to get me to believe in him! Look at this moment, where Clara basically betrayed him and nearly got them in a terrible jam, but he still chooses to help her, probably seeing her love for Danny. Maybe he remembered Amy and Rory for a moment... I still prefer Matt Smith the most, but Capaldi was fantastic as well! Thank you Peter, even it took a while for me to see it.

anytime anyone bashes steven moffat as a writer i know they are either ignoring or have forgotten how he could write such banger lines like “do you think i care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference?” how much emotion and depth is expressed in how that is worded and delivered, insane

If she was 9's first companion he'd have dumped her ass. 9 was real old school when it came to groundrules. He's the demobilized Doctor who's still internally in uniform. 10 would have come pretty damn close-people forget 10 was REAL deadly serious about having a two strike policy and had the darkest capacity for cruelty of the bunch. He just happened to luck out with companions that lacked serious drama (Donna, Wilf) or were hopelessly in love with him (Rose, Martha). Its quite possible he doesnt just kick her out but also fucks her up. 11 lacks 10's vanity or 9's intensity. I suspect he'd have more difficulty taking her attempted betrayal *seriously* than 12 did, let alone *personally*. It says sth about how limited 13's eps were that i have no idea how she'd react to betrayal.

Personally I don't think it says as much about Twelve's personality that he forgave Clara for this as it does about how obsessed with her he was. And it went both ways. I think if it was earlier in their relationship and Clara wasn't the first face Twelve saw, things might have gone down a bit differently here. Series 8 was the series that showed these two could forgive each other for just about anything, because they couldn't bear to be without each other.

One thing i always appreciated about the start of Capaldi's tenure as the doctor was that i had to grow into liking him. I liked Ecllesten and Smith from the beginning and I respect Tennants iteration but i did not like Capaldi at first. And for as much as i like Smith, Capaldi definitely is my favorite because of scenes like this.

Peter Capaldi was a brilliant Doctor. ...most of his episodes were poorly written. Clara herself might have been the worst companion I can recall. ...but a choice handful of episodes and moments live on in my memory.

Here is why they say that The Galaxy Class was such an effective ship during the Dominion War. After the Oddessy I believe it is true that no more Galaxy Class were lost. Partially destroyed maybe. Damaged certainly but never lost. Once Federation engineers got rid of the Dominions advantage things were much different.

My ranking of the modern doctors 1st 10th, 2nd 11th, 3rd 12th, 4th 9th, 5th 13th and I know I rated him as 3rd but he’s still a spectacular doctor showing plenty of wrath and plenty of compaction even if you don’t see it in his face as much you can feel it in his words

In a way I think the Doctor would have respected her less if she had backed down. Obviously he doesn't want to be threatened to change fixed events, but this isn't something you just demand on a whim. By throwing away all the keys, thinking she was throwing away both of their lives, and saying she'd do it again, she showed she understood the gravity of what she was asking for. If she had backed down and not thrown the final key I wonder whether the Doctor would have agreed to help her after. They might have kept travelling together, but I suspect looking for an afterlife would have been off the table.

Clara who is his utterly loyal friend, and Clara who betrayed him in the worst way possible... but is still his friend ....are the same thing ... ...he would later suffer for ... "We think, four and half billion years" because he had a duty of care ... It might not be love ... but it's the kind of friendship that lasts longer ...
