Scared chitless to do this since they only trained us a few minutes before moving on to something else. Just been stowing since i started and one day of e/g seperation. I'd hate to f it up for those down the line. Ours is also WAY faster than that line and our totes go on the bottom with oversized in the middle rack at our delivery station.

If you are new do not pancake stow like this it'll kill you later in the shift the totes get very full and obviously volume matter so they get as many packages in totes as possible you cant just throw them in by the end of the day you'll be rearranging your boxes and killing your rate.

If you start your shift stowing let the racks pile up a bit. Don’t just start stowing right away. That will hurt your rate. You always want to be stowing at a rapid Pace. Hitting 300 a hour anyone can do it. Just be smart about how you do it. Our centre we switch jobs after break so everyone isn’t stowing for 7 hours straight on. Makes it easier. Pick to buffer is about the easiest job to have. If you have 6 people 3 on each side it will run smoothly. When I stow I always think of the pickers. They job is easier when the racks are clear.

Wouldn’t it all equal in total though? Will they not be able to see that I’ve got every package as soon as it got to me? I’ll start on the 18th at the delivery station. I don’t know what position I’ll be doing but it’s a flex schedule well I’ll be doing everything or just one position

@@Chopper140 my warehouse we work in different shifts between break. Today I was buffering then after break we stow until we are done with everything then do pick and stage. They won’t see your packages till you scan them and put them in the bag. It’s not hard. If you’re flex you could be doing anything just depends on the volume you’re doing. Our volume since Black Friday has gone down so I expect Peak won’t be much of anything this year.

I just finished my first week at a delivery station. They never switch positions. If you're assigned to stow, that's what you're doing for the whole time until we all start picking the bags and boxes for the drivers to load their trucks. So, my typical 10-hour shift is 6 hours stowing and 4 hours picking huge heavy bags and boxes. Or, pick to buffer, then bags/boxes to loading dock.😢

nah nah nah this is wrong first the belts needs to be 10 times faster and 500+ stow rate ? and expect a clean and organized bag ? no. 200+ and perfect bag makes sense,

I Already pick like this without the boxes. As a Stower, I'm not sure it's faster to use a trolley and totes, than it is to just pick up stacks (providing they are sorted ABC,DE,GHJ)
@tonyperez2204
3 жыл бұрын
Hi. What does ABC mean I that on the boxes, then you put them in alphabetical order? Thanks 😊
@IAmFazeR
3 жыл бұрын
@@tonyperez2204 I no longer work there. When you stow the packages they have a corresponding letters and numbers for the aisle it is to be stowed in, and then also the bag. For example "A7-4D". Package goes to line A, Aisle 7, and goes into bag 4D in that aisle. The aisle is quite wide so it is extremely inefficient to walk from bag A to bag J, back to bag A and then to G etc. So the idea is that ABC, DE, GHJ go into piles/totes respectively, meaning you should be able to stow all packages in said pile/tote efficiently.

@@igormagalhaes802 most warehouses avoid using any letters that could be mistaken for others, so a lot of placed won't use both E and F as they're similar and can be mistaken for eachother at a quick glance.
