My 2013 ZR1 has had a vibration since I've owned it (bought 6 years ago with 10k miles). After repairing bent wheels, replacing one, and road force balancing and match mounting the tires, the vibration was still there. It was a harmonic vibration that started around 50mph. I analyzed it with a oscilloscope and determined it was indeed a 1st order tire vibration. Since I had already ruled out the wheels & tires, rotors were my next target. I just mounted new tires today and decided to balance the rotors with the wheels as shown in this video. I spun one wheel up without the rotor attached and then again with the rotor attached. I subtracted the difference and determined that the rotor was 0.25oz off on inside plane and 0.75 oz off on outside plane, which is significantly out of balance for a rotor. I only did the fronts at this time but I will say it is a 90% improvement. I plan to do the same to the rear rotors some time soon.

The 2013 427 convertible was a single-year trim and they only made 2,552 of them. It was the only time a Z06 engine could be had on the C6 convertible body. Starting with the C7, GM finally wised up and made the Z06 convertible an option.

Andrew, just found your videos. I have many Ego garden tools and 7 batteries. So I got the small plug-in inverters for charging cell phones if we loose grid power. The few times I needed them for that it was a good thing to have. So wanted to get more use out of the rest of the EGO batteries and went with the power station. I totally agree with your video on that topic. My expectations are low and this unit fills that. I have on 12ah ego battery and will add one every now and then till I have 4 12ah batteries to get the most run time out of Nexest. Hot swapping during a power outage will give a bit more time with my extra batteries. I had just started to consider it on a backup to the Tesla. Your video answered that and Yes was good enough. So if I had a 1/2 gal gas can for my truck I can see that gas is a better backup for emergencies, but that's not my plan so again I am good. Clearly a gas gen backup would be a better solution, but having the electric generator should be fine in if we loose power at home it would most likely be for an hour and these batteries will make life more normal during that event. Not a real solution if outage lasts longer, but we have other resources if that happens. You do such a good job making videos I am surprised you have not made more. Clearly you have much you can share I would just want to encourage you to not give up yet. Your channel has been getting action that should help your new videos to get better exposure. Good luck and thanks for helping me with understanding my new Ego Nexest. Just 3 more 12ah's to go for me. ;)

The whole thing about cutting off power at 20% to save battery isn't accurate. I'm assuming the rep you spoke to was just reading off of some script that his supervisor threw together one day while bored, but the real reason is due to loss of energy during inversion. So while it's correct that you only get around 80% usable energy, this isn't an Ego specific issue, it's just an unfortunate side effect of physics. Every battery powered DC to AC inverter will have approximately 80% efficiency. Even DC to DC converters experience this in varying degrees depending on the conversion.

Replacing the entire strap is the only other fix I've seen for this. And by fix, I mean a temporary band-aid. Some have sourced a bungy cord or something of similar elasticity and made it to the same size. Seen varying results of success with that from works perfectly over time to what-a-waste-of-time-that-was. Boggles my mind that GM never bothered to find a permanent fix for this extremely well-known issue. Others have said it best...GM has been known to design certain stuff just good enough to get you past warranty. At that point they just shrug and say we didn't say it would work forever, people. Good luck with your endeavor, buddy. Wish I had more to tell you.

@@HexedInOhio I know I'm a gm technician lol I have replaced the top and straps. The straps are now part from a seat belt cause the oem straps broke. Still no dice. I feel like if I make it as tight as I need it to not contact, there's too much tension and the top will not close properly

@@brandonwarren4614 I'd imagine a seat belt material wouldn't work for that for reasons you just mentioned...it has to be able to stretch. Ironically, the biggest requirement is also its own undoing. It is sad that people are suprised the wattage output has nothing to do with the watt hour of batteries you are getting. I guess this is why Jackery has decided to make those numbers match so the Jackery 1000 is 1000 watt output with a 1002 watt hour battery.
@HexedInOhio

That's because the general public isn't educated on most stuff battery-related. While there does seem to be more information floating out there now thanks to the huge rise in EVs and electric mowers, it's still very much so misunderstood. watt hours and watts have as much in common with each other as MPG and your gas tank size. One is a capacity and the other is consumption over time. Don't let the word "watts" in both of those stats mislead you to thinking they are interchangable. Therein lies my biggest complaint with products like this. They rarely advertise how LONG something can work at a specified rate, just the capacity and item's it can power. I once read somewhere that the average person looks at a box in a store for less than 5 seconds before moving on when browsing. That's not NEARLY enough time to explain all these numbers, so EGO (like all companies) dumbs it down to the smallest denominator and gives you the attention grabbing numbers that most people know. 2000 watts. I will disclose that this review is now 3 years old, and i'm not sure how EGO is advertising this now. The box and/or specs may have changed since then

Form what I've heard it's still a crap shoot as most of the stuff people find now is new old stock from the last 15 years. Best suggestion is just to buy from a reputable source and ask what their policy is on returns on unbalanced rotors. At $1800/rotor, I wouldn't buy without a written agreement to their return policy on out-of-balance rotors.

It's something I would buy if I used EGO powertools on regular base and had lots of batteries, otherwise, just get a gas powered generator. Any way, EGO must make a V2 with passthrough ability.
@HexedInOhio
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's pretty much what my review was attempting to get across. Don't bother with it unless you already have am arsenal of EGO batteries sitting around from other EGO products. Pass-through and a switch or toggle to keep the unit from turning off is the other thing that should have been on the unit, as it makes it unreliable if your putting a sump pump on it during a power outage since it only draws power when it runs every few minutes. Found that one out just a few days back

One thing to be aware of with the EGO Nexus Power Station is that the Android app only works properly with Android 8.1 - 10 right now. With Android 11, bluetooth will work, but wifi doesn't. With Android 12, neither bluetooth or wifi will work. I have reported this to Ego after trying to get them to fix this for 3 months. I finally found an old Galaxy Tab S3 (Android 9) and was able to get it to connect to both bluetooth and wifi.

In a power outage the microwave and the AC along with the toaster or toaster oven would not be used. TV , pc's, phones and fridge are the most important and you don't need the fridge on all day. you can do 4 hours on and 4 hours off and use common sense. For the price of this unit you can buy a great 6500 watt generator, buy 3 5 gallon gas cans and fill them up and have 300 bucks left over and you are good for 4 or 5 days

Umm, I see your top is puckered in now around the window when closed, so maybe you went a little to far with the adjustment. I'm also thinking that maybe sliding a thick strap adjuster on would take up enough slack just by going over and under a couple times to make enough difference.
@stevej.1428
2 жыл бұрын
I would try folding the strap over itself at where it transitions from the reinforced/stitched area and run a new hole through both the old hole and into the less reinforced part of the strap. This would probably make the strap at least 1/2 inch shorter (or even more), but you'd get a more substantial connection when screwed down. Not sure if shortening the strap that much would effect the top or it's operation, but it would make a more solid connection, and less apt to stretch out again leading to the same problem. The only thing I question is the screw/bolt being long enough to go through all of it and still get a good enough bite on the threads to not come out. Probably could get a slightly longer screw.
