It's hard for me to believe I gave up all of this to move to land locked Atlanta. I used to take this bus to and from work I used to ride my bike from one end of the city to the other via the the Lake Shore Trail. jimA thompson yes it's all one park. US 41/Northside Dr in Atlanta is Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. Isn't that ironic?

Enjoyed watching them both, 1&2 the bike paths, marina and coming into the residential apt area backdrops as much _as_ I like modern I do appreciate some of those classic older beaux-Art I think, low to upper midrise bldgs. Visited sections of the Riverfront and wanted to see what was so special about Hyde Park, but that was in the way-back machine irrelevant now.

jimA thompson I am glad. It's perhaps the best way to illustrate how small and cramped the old Piedmont Park used to feel to me. From the time I could leave my neighborhood on my own--wow I just realized I was a free roaming child!-I used to ride my bike to and from my aunt's house to hangout with my cousins. I've taken the #147 hundreds of times. It's strange how seeing something you've seen hundreds of times can bring back such powerful memories. In a lot of respects this video is my proxy for how I would like to look out over the Atlanta BeltLine. As beautiful as these images are I'm glad the video capture the construction in the park too. I think all that park land along the is landfill. It was built up over years.

The beltline landscapers are doing something I really like. On both sides of the paved walking path they've planted native vegetation and letting it grow so it creates a more natural path visually, it's above the knee on me and I don't think that's for lack of a cutting budget, but I will check. No word on the pearl -cellphone- clutcher's fearing someone hiding in the tall dark grasses.

jimA thompson it's probably for drought resistance. I wonder how they're going to stop kudzu, mimosas, bamboo and etc? Or is that built into the plan too. That would be cool.
